40. (00101000) Bowl Dis-engage Fault
While carrying out a bowl check, the Motor Control Module has found that the bowl is not
engaged even though the pressure sensor indicates that the bowl is empty. The Motor
Control Module continues to check for 2 minutes, after which time it displays this fault. The
first two areas to check are the clutch and the pressure tube. If these two appear correct,
then the fault could be in the pressure sensor in the Motor Control Module.
Primary Source: Mechanical.
Action: 1) Check that there are no clothes or other foreign objects preventing
the clutch from re-engaging. Excessive suds can stop the bowl
rotating.
2) If the machine is empty of water, carry out a clutch disassembly
procedure and check the spline drive.
3) Next check that the pressure tube has not come off and that it is
not kinked.
Secondary Source: Motor Control Module.
Action: Replace Motor Control Module.

Error 40

Alot of the times that is caused by a bad fuser. Change your fuser to a new one if the fuser still continues with the error 40 and the fuser is OK then go into Service Diagnostics, NVRAM Access and run the "Clear Tech. Rep. Fault". What happens is that if the errors comes up more then 3 times it gets stuck in the engine control board So then you have to erase the engine cotrol board to start fresh with no faults or errors. My SOny Bravia 40 inch LCD TV has a vertical line

Hi,

It could be 1 of 4 things:
1. One of the ribbon cables has worked itself loose (Simple Fix)
2. One of the assembly boards maybe faulty
3. The driver board which feeds the panel maybe faulty
4. The panel is faulty

The driver board in the UK costs approx £70 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

All other parts are between £80-160 and approx £35-70 to fit it if this is the fault.

The panel will cost approx 50-75% of what the TV was worth when you bought it - "Repair versus Replacement"

Thanks
