Every time I start the GPS, it goes to the System Settings screen, but will never go to the main menu. Not sure why this is, but I can't use it because of that, and it's getting pretty annoying.

reset the unit (read your manual link below) if that doesnt work, the digitizer (touch screen) is probably broken.

Regarding going straight to settings page, there is a file in one of the folders called navigator.exe. This is the menu used to access the map and the system settings and enter an address. Possibly, this file became corrupt while you were setting up your options. I suggest that you download the latest firmware update online from magellangps.com and install it. If, for some reason, the update fails after multiple attempts, then do the following:
SOURCE: my gps is stuck on magellan boot up screen.
turn on your 1210 once it boots to the magellan screen press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, once it shuts off, power it back on by pressing and holding the power button for up to ten seconds then let it load.
if that fails, power it up and try the reset button, (either on the bottom or on the side)the little pinhole, and use a paper clip to depress the reset
button.

Try re booting, turn off like normal, then when you go to turn it on, hold power button down all the way through the start up, and 15 seconds more than release the on button, now it's rebooted, see if that helps, let me know.

This is normal, this come straight of the satellite. To speed up process or bypass, reboot system. To Manually reboot this model, turn unit off like normal. Then when turning on, keep button down as it fires up, DO NOT release on button, keep it down until all fires up and even about 10 seconds passed, then let go. This reboots it and cleans up a lot of ****. Thanks Mike. Please if this helps, please give me 4 thumbs up, to help me and others. if that dont work, turn it off again fully charge it then reboot it manually again. This should do it!
