SOURCE: kenwood KDC-W312S wont keep the saved channels after car restart

Check the yellow wire connection on your wiring harness... This is the wire that provides continuous power even when the ignition is off. This is how the radio remembers presets/time and such. Every time you turn off the car, the radio "resets" because you dont have the yellow wire connected to an ALWAYS HOT wire.

If you cannot find a hot wire, then you can run a wire from the yellow on the back of your radio directly to the positive terminal on your battery. Dont worry, it doesnt draw enough power to run your battery down.

Most cars have a cigarette lighter or power port somewhere that is always hot. You could always run the yellow wire off of one of these.

Just find a way to get the yellow wire on a hot wire and your stereo will remember the presets.

SOURCE: Help with storing radio stations

Ergh, you might want to explain what KIND of system it is if you need help!
Usually if you have a PRESET button on your system, just tune to the station you want, hold the preset button and it will save the station...or ask you which slot to use (use fast forward/rewind or any other arrow key to change the slot) and viola! And if you have numbers (like in a car for example) just tune to the station and press and hold (for example) the 1 button and it will store the station.

Hope it helps a bit.

SOURCE: LG LX-M240 operating instructions: I cannot set the presets

Owner's Manual is PN 3834RH0020U
On pg13
1. Press TUNER/BAND to select AM or FM
(Leftmost rectangular button on left of volume knob)
2. Select station by using TUNING +/-
3. Press PROGRAM/MEMO on the remote
A preset number will appear.
4. Press PRESET +/- (or PRESET ^/v on remote) to
select the preset number you want.
5. Press PROGRAM/MEMO again. The statio is stored.
6. Repeat above for more stations.

Believe you can store up to 30 stations.
Stations on presets 1, 2 and 3 take longer to 'kick in' when listening to the radio
as they are the 'tens' prefix for the preset numbers. 4 - 9 'kick in' immediately.

Have lost four preset channels on my Technika DAB 109CR digital clock radio and lost manual so have nothing to consult to get back these stations. Everything live but showing only one station constantly

Finally sussed out how to (re)set presets, overall you need a little patience:
Probably best to press Autotune before we set off and let it do its thing.
Press 'presets' and find a free channel or the one you want to change, leave it until you can hear the station its on play.
Now, press 'jog/select' and WAIT until it says <SELECT> (but don't wait too long when it says this or you'll have to start again)
Use dial to find station you want AND LEAVE to tune in.
Press AND hold presets down until number flashes.
Press jog/select once briefly (normally).
Press presets once briefly...it should now say "Saved"
Leave to save for a few seconds.
Voila!
You can now change station either by pressing Presets and moving dial...waiting for the station to load OR press jog/select to manually tune to the station of your choice using the dial.

I don't have the instruction manual that came with my Sony system RM-SC50 stereo, and I can't figure out how to preset radio stations into it. Please help.

The most common practice is to choose either via scan function, or manually, a station you wish to save, press and HOLD the preset button you want to assign. Most will blink the display when the selection is saved.

Tuning DAB radio

Just bought the same unit but the instruction manual was double dutch. After messing around for a while I managed to do it like this. Whe the unit is set to DAB, Press the Sel+/TU+ or the Sel-/TU- button on the unit (not the remote) until the DAB station displays and then press the Select CH+ button again on the unit. Wait a few seconds while the word "tuning" is displayed and that station should now play. To save the station as a preset do this. When the station is playing use the remote and press the PRG/MEM button once. Then press the number for which preset you want that station to be. The station will be saved. EG to save Radio 1 as Preset station 1, play Radio 1, Press PRG/MEM, then press number 1. After that whenever you press number 1 on the remote Radio 1 will play. Do the same with any other station you wish to save. To save station 10 press the 0/10 button on the remote. To save station 11 press 10+ then 1, 12 is 10+ the 2 etc. Good luck Dopeyemma
