No image Hi I'm Marilyn : Thank you for having this page to solve my problem.They gave me a used Canon Power Shot A70 Digital Camera. They told me that the batteries had been their for a long time an the acid came out but everything of the camera works okay but theirs no image. It does all the function well but the point is theirs no image to see. the monitor is black,nothing to see. I hope you can help me I can't offered one. I think the LCD display of the camera is not functional anymore.you may need a repalcement.

Hi my canon A70 will not let me view my subject -- instead, I get a striated screen of purple and black that I can't change. What's up?

I had the same problem and found that on the Canon website there was a CCD Image Sensor Advisory for this product. When I called the service number (1-800-828-4040) they were very helpful. Canon will pay shipping for your camera and repair the CCD Image Sensor free. Good luck!

Can't take a picture or even see an image in picture mode. I get an error message E18? I am able to look at photos taken in the past.

SkiPowder, the E18 error is fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension.

no its not the flash, it is the CCD. The replacement of the CCD will solve the problem.
