Compaq Monitor My monitor won't even come on... When I turn on the PC, and the monitor, the green light turns amber and then Orange- like how it does when I put it on stand-by. All the electric cords are plugged in but the monitor is "hibernating" constantly... I can even hear the start up tune that's played but no response from the monitor. Thanks in advance for any info I can get. :)

OK All these Compaq's have a Power Supply problem, or a Horizontal Voltage problem.. meaning they are on the way out. The SMPSU's in these units often fail along with the Horizontal Drive Circuitry. I think it is time for a new one? Repair of such a unint would barely be "Ecconomical" IMHO.

It had been quite a while since I turn on my compaq presario 7204APr. And when it turned it on, there is no image appear on my monitor screen. How can I fix it?

Desktop PCs have separate power buttons for the monitor and the desktop component.
1. Make sure both items are turned on.
2. Make sure the cable from the Computer to the monitor is connected securely.
3. Are there lights on the monitor? Are they Green?
If they are amber the connection is not solid or the Video Card is bad.
Are there lights on the desktop PC? Are they blinking? If so the PC is working and the video is not. Check the connections and monitor power.

4. When you turn on the PC do you hear noise? If yes, the PC is working.
Beeps will sound if the video, memory or keyboard is not working.

After you check these things, reply to let us know if it is working or not.

Sir Help me with my Compaq monitor MV520 it won't turn the power led flashing orange to green continously

it could be th epower supply and it could be the monitor.
power ON button should not flash orange regardless what you do. it should stay green. then orange. not orange to green to orange.
try the monitor on another PC if you can fine one.
the other thing is are the 2 monitor similar (CRT to CRT and LCD to LCD), you can't mix the the two, they will work but need different video driver to function correctly.

Did you fix your Compaq 1220?

Any time you have a orange light . The monitor or video card can be at fault. First check the monitor. Turn it on and see if it goes from green to amber. Check all monitor cable connections. to make sure the all 15 pins are there . If monitor displays a message that check video signal most likely video card is the problem. Make sure you have the cable connection plugged in the back of the computer into the video card. Usually a picture of a monitor. Then afterwards turn the monitor on first then the computer. If you do the other way around then the video card most likely will not engage.

PC or monitor, signal problems

your monitor is telling you it's on it's last legs..either that or your compaq has a bad video section. either is more vital than a video cable being loose.

Monitor doesnt come on , but the power light goes from amber to green. then comes on after 20-30mins maybe.

Maybe update your display drivers. PC appears to be slow.
Make sure you don't have a bunch of apps that auto start.
Do you hibenate your PC?
Same issue if you connect monitor to another PC?
If issue follows you to a different PC it says monitor. If it doesn't it says the first PC (that monitor is currently connected to) had a cpu/memory or a driver issue.

Good luck
