Propel Pro Getting Started CD Error

Your phone was manufactured by HTC and uses the Windows Mobile Operating Platform. As such there are two programs you can download but which one you need will depend on your computer's operating system.

Download and install Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 if you run Windows Vista or Windows 7 on your computer and you want to sync content between your mobile phone and your computer. Windows Mobile Device Center is only compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 is the latest sync software release for Windows Mobile-powered devices. ActiveSync provides a great synchronization experience with Windows®-powered PCs and Microsoft Outlook right out of the box. Note: Microsoft ActiveSync works only with Windows XP SP2 or earlier. You need to install on your computer ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center. To install this, insert the "Getting Started" CD into your computer and follow the setup steps. If you don't have the CD anymore, you can download the ActiveSync from this link.

Once ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center is installed you connect the HTC Snap to your PC using the USB cable supplied with your HTC Snap, then you will be presented a configuration Wizard that will take you through the set up process.

You can connect the device to your computer using USB either as an External Drive or through Microsoft ActiveSync. If using Windows Vista, you will use Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) rather than ActiveSync. Simply plug the device in and choose an option on the screen of the device.

If you will use it as an External Device, you can copy data on it as you would copy on a USB flash drive, with copy and paste.

Another option is to use the bluetooth to transfer files, if you have a notebook which has bluetooth capabilities or you have a dongle.

4. Install it using USB cable connection with your computer (Windows mobile sync must be installed so your computer can regonize it.)
5. How do I install Microsoft ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC)?

   Insert the "Getting Started" CD that came with your device into your PC and follow the prompts.
   Note: The disk will detect what operating system you have and what sync software you have loaded. If you already have ActiveSync installed on your PC, it will not give you an option to install it from the disk (same for WMDC) until it has been removed from your PC.

Which Operating System are you using? Is it windows XP or VISTA?
You need to download Microsoft ActiveSync in case using Windows XP from:

Just call your service provider support center and they'll help you for sure . don't try it by yourself . let them help you . they are the only ones , who can help you correctly .

All versions of activesync will handle this device providing it is powered by Microsoft Widows Mobile, Microsoft Windows CE, or a similar Microsoft Windows Powered OS. I am unaware of what your specific device utilizes; however I do know that all versions of ActiveSync will provide support to devices listed above.

The CD is most likely a support plug-in or a remote install for desktop to device software.

Please consult Dell's support and Drivers site for any additional information or pieces of software you may require. You should however, providing your desktop/laptop computer is using > Windows XP, be able to utilize limited access abilitys of your device (such as transfer of files) given Windows Mobile device recognition.

- Install ActiveSync on your pc (check the getting started CD of HTC)
- Connect your HTC to the computer with the mini-USB cable.
- activeSync Synchronization setup wizard will start.
- don't select anything of Microsoft Exchange server and click next
- select the information types to synchronize like notes, favourites, files, media
- click next & click finish.

please reinstall ur phone software for that

Only a hint. Did you check the small print via the downloads for Pocket PC on the Microsoft web pages? If you download from the regular OS pages they don't mention that certain Pocket PC generations are not supported.
