I also purchased the samsung sch r500 in august, because of the mp3 player, and i have yet to figure out how to get it to play music. i have formatted the sd card.. used a card reader to put the mp3 music on it, but when it is in the phone it does not show anything on the card, but if i put the card back in the computer, all the music is there, and no one at any of the stores know why, and i have also called and asked and no knows. it is really making me mad.. i wish i knew how to play music on my phone... i feel so retarded... HELP...

I had this same issue....make sure all the songs are in .mp3 format, or they wont play. go into "my computer" and get into the sd card. make sure there is a folder named My_Music. Next, right click on each audio file, and click on properties, and copy and paste or drag and drop the files into the My_Music folder. put the sd card back in the phone. with the phone closed, hold the camera button in (button on right side of phone) until music plays or it says loading.

Got sd card and installed music from computer ,plugged into phone but when i go to music player it shows no songs on card, how ever when put back tocomputer songs show up and play

Your Samsung Hue can only play MP3 encoded files (extension mp3). If you have taken music that has been ripped using the windows media player, the default rip settings put the tracks into windows media audio format (wma) which your phone cannot read. You'll need to find a free wma to mp3 converter and convert your files to load onto your phone. You can also set Windows Media Player to default to MP3 when ripping under the Tools|Options menu item. Look under the RIP tab and change the default format to MP3. If you are already using MP3, it is possible that you are using to high of a Kbs rate on your MP3's in which case you'll need to be sure you rip tracks in a lower Kbs rate (also under the RIP tab in Windows Media Player). Here is a link to a free WMA to MP3 converter...

Connect your Phone to PC using USB cable. Windows XP/Vista have the ability to detect the phone and display the phone memory and Memory card as disk drives in My Computer. Search for the folder named mp3. Just copy and paste music files into this folder.
Alternativelyyou can use the samsung PC suite to do this for you
