Re: my tv is broken

If still under warranty or if you have no electronic repair experience you should take the set back to the shop or to a repair person. Some of the solutions described below can be dangerous, TV's are very hazardous to service. Even when plugged out, TV's can store very high voltages. Try the suggestions on this post from the Troubleshooting page:,p228476/Sony-KP-48S75-48-in-Rear-Projection-Television.aspx

Mitsubishi wd-73738 turns itself back on

It sound like the remote is powering off the cable box but not the TV. The remote control may need to be reprogrammed to the TV. When you press power it may only power off the Cable box. At that point, try pressing the TV button on your remote and then Power. If it does not power off the tV after pressing the tV button, the remote may need to be reprogrammed to the tv. Cable companies usually have the codes needed to program their remotes to the TVs.

I have a Sharp flat panel model LC-20SH4U. The units power LED light is red. No effect (sound or picture) when remote or on/off switch is activated. The LED light slightly blinks.

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

Hope this may help;

If the red indicator light on the front of your HDTV is glowing a solid red, you should first unplug the AC cord from the wall power outlet and wait for 60 seconds before reapplying power to the HDTV.

After you turn the TV on, if it doesn't power up, try holding the power button down for at least 8 seconds. That's supposed to force a system reset. If your model has a system reset button, use that instead. Press the reset button for about 20 seconds...release it and press it again for 20 seconds, release it again and the led will blink just for a minute or two. You should now be able to turn the TV on.
If after several attempts, the HDTV has not fully powered on and the LED on the front of the HDTV is still glowing solid red, you may want to reseat the lamp.

If reseating the lamp has not resolved the issue then your next step is to order a replacement lamp. Keep in mind that some off-brand lamps may only last a few weeks, so replacing a relatively new off-brand lamp may unfortunately be necessary.

My phillips 60 inch tv 60pl9200d/37 wont turn on the power button flashes blue

Look in the manual. (Page 4)

Turn the TV on From main supply: Ensure that the main supply is turned on. A blue indicator light on the front of the TV lights up. When the TV is turned on by the main supply, the blue indicator light will blink for 45 seconds. This is the lamp's start-up period. When the light goes off, press the POWER button on the remote control or power switch. Press POWER to turn on the TV.

Red Hue

Go into the service menu and turn down the red push and red cut a few notches. Write down every value in the service menu and be careful to make sure you don't change anything else. Also, turn down the brightness a couple of clicks and the red glow will be gone.

Or, try this - Press Mute on the remote control twice, press Mute a third time and keep holding at the same time, press the Menu button on the TV front panel. If you do it correctly, you will see a small S on the screen. Congrats, you are in service mode. Press Menu on the remote to get to the adjustable settings. Be careful not to change anything without writting the original value down first. Also be careful of hitting other buttons on the remote. To reduce red push, Use the channel up down button until it says RCUT. Adjust the value using the volume button on the remote. I recommend setting RCUT to 80H, which is the preset value according to the service manual. To exit Service Mode, simply power off the TV. Good luck.

Will not turn on...just a flashing red light

Evidently this is a common problem with Toshiba rear projection TVs. You might be able to get it working temporarily by unplugging it, pushing the power button a few times, plugging it back in, and then turning it on. Most likely your power supply is going out on you, and should be taken in to be repaired.

Temporary solution found here.

How do I reset the replace lamp message

found this on and worked perfectly for me

1- Press and hold the MENU button on the TV.
2- Press and hold the MENU button on your REMOTE (hold both these until the service menu pops up 5-10 secs max).
3 - Let go of the REMOTE button first, then release the button on the TV.
4- Press and hold the ENTER (or OK) button on the TV.
5- Press and hold the MUTE button on the REMOTE (hold both until the LAMP LIFE HOURS appears on the screen).
6- Let go of the REMOTE button first, then release the button on the TV.
7- To reset the lamp counter, press SELECT (or the button in the middle of the direction arrow buttons). Hit SELECT a second time to confirm clearing the lamp counter.

The problem is that it require the screen to work. That mean that the timer by itself probably can't keep the TV from powering up. I would verify how the lamp was installed (perhaps retrying the previous lamp).

Does any led flashing with a pattern in time occur when you try to power it on?

About the "?" button, i don't see that on the remote.
