WD-52525 air filter cover open error 33, FD connector?

I just replaced the caps on the boards in my Mitsubishi WD-52525. After getting it together I realized FD was not connected. I can't remember or find where FD connector goes which I believe is the Filter Detect switch and is causing my error 33. Can anyone help? Thanks

You have to take the TV apart. Pull the electrical chassis out and look for bad electrolytic caps on the boards. sounds like caps on the power supply board are bad. You can tell if they are bad by the fact that their tops are puffed up and they may or may not be leaking brown fluid. Compare them against the other caps on the boards and you will see how they have flat tops.

BUT before you take the TV apart you can check the error codes by pushing "menu" and "Device" at the same time and holding for about 10 seconds. The status light will blink two numbers. ex. one flash pause two flashes is 12 Error Code Probable Cause

12 No error detected
22 Recovery from momentary Reset
32 Lamp Cover open
33 Air Filter Cover open
34 Lamp abnormality
35 Chassis Fan failure
36 Exhaust (Back Cover) or Lamp Ballast Fan failure
37 Engine (DMD or Lamp) Fan failure

The 33 error means the air filter cover is open. The 41 error means a short is detected.

Mitsubishi WD-52525 with blinking green light problem

The #3 post worked for me. I first just did the capacitors and it did not work at first, but I got it reset. It worked for 2 months and lost power the other day in a storm and the blinking light came again and would not reset. I put in the switch and followed his directions and it work perfectly. Sweeet. The switch was easy. The capacitors were not hard, but very detail oriented. I work on copiers for a living, so I am used to taking things apart and back together. You must be able to solder and reassemble pretty well, or I would hire someone to do it.

you didnt mention which two boards you replaced the caps on however each board in the chassis has the same capacitor issue. Sounds like you need either of the four V26 Repair kits. The FMT repair kit, The signal Repair kit, The Terminal 1 or the terminal 2 repair kit

Mitsubishi WD 52525 lamp replaced, no picture, red light

You have to take the TV apart. Pull the electrical chassis out and look for bad electrolytic caps on the boards. The red LED probably means the 2 - 3300UF caps on the power supply board are bad.
