I upgraded the unit on Dec. 24th and I now have the same problem. My solution is to take it to your local recycling plant and don't buy another Samsung player. I contacted support and because the unit is out of warranty they can't (will not) do anything. I tried reapplying the firmware via the USB and it didn't work. Anyone have a way to reset the firmware to the factory version?

Alot of the newer playstation console's won't read the old black or blue labels. Try getting it resurfaced. Cost you about $2 at the nearest game store.
