Sony kv-32fs120 blinks 3 times then waits and starts a steady 5 blinks over and over. The B+ comes up and quickly off during this

The STDBY Timer blinks 3 times then waits and starts a steady 5 blinks over and over. The B+ comes up and quickly off during this. The horiz out put transistor seems to be good although with the E-B resistor in the package it is a little hard to tell. The service note says 5 blinks is the M board processor IC 001 but I am skeptical with the supply shutting down like that. Do yu think it would likely be the processor IC? or..??

I have not repaired this particular model. If you have a capacitor checker, I would start there. Chances are good you will find a couple of bad capacitors. Bad caps can lead you to an area of most concern. I think the problem is in the general power supply. Check with TVRepair Kits.com. They may have a power supply kit available. Sony TVs are know for wearing down power supplies. The other thing to check, may be the audio IC. Sometimes the audio IC will have a standby mode. This standby is exactly what it says. When you shut off your TV, the standby mode is awaiting a call for power on. These are the two areas to look in to. PS, the power supply is connected to the horizontal deflection, if the horizontal transistor is good, investigate that a bad cap near it is weak or bad. Then proceed to the power supply. Sounds complicated and may be so. As you learn, it is routine. And don't forget, some ofthese TVs are destined for the recycle center! Thanks for asking me. Sincerely, Matt of Matt Martin TV.

One other thing to consider. If you find a repair kit, it may not contain capacitors. You will have to search for bad capacitors and replace as necessary. Then you may install the repair kit. Be sure to inspect any and all grounds on the solder side of the board. Please study the solder side and inspect very closely. 90% of the problems are bad solder grounds. Thanks again for listening.

KV-32FS120 makes a loud noise and green tint when turned on

Loud noise is possibly made by Degausing Coil to demagnetize picture tube and its normal.
Green tint shows picture tube is bit weak in electron emission due to its age and takes time to present good white balance result (good colors)

Sony Trinitron KV-32FS320 5 blinks

Sony KP53HS10 5 blinks
Five blinks means "Video out abnormality detection". Possible problem areas are as follows:

Video out, IC7101, 7201, 7301 and others in C board circuit.
Q510, 516, 524 (A board).

There are actually three C boards, the CR, CG and CB boards. They are attached to the rear of the red, green and blue CRTs, respectively. I wouldnt attempt to repair the set myself. I would solicite the services of an authorized Sony servicenter.
