Six blinks? No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. This will make repair easy. For more information, check the link http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/. If the blinks continues, and non-stop, the fault should be with its main system control IC, and with the memory IC.

Refere to Sony Blinking Codes :
5 Blinks ===> cause AKB circuit (AKB). Something is wrong with the video. check components on the C board, also check the A board. Also unit be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
I had the same issue earlier this week. 4 year old sony trinitron wega 32 in. I was told by Sony to call technician to repair and have called tech....could be anywhere from $200-$300 repair. I did research the blinks (google "sony blinking codes" to find out what each means) Ours was 6-7 blinks which meant power surge to tv. I advised to Sony that i saw many of the same issues with many of the newer tv's and suggested a recall issue--they denied and where no help. I will buy a new tv now--definitly not a Sony.
