Electrolux EOU5330X Ultrafan Electric Double Oven -

Sounds to me like the lower element shorted and tripped the breaker as it burned out. If you're handy at electrical troubleshooting that's where I'd start - comparing ohmmeter readings between the bad element and the one that works.

A wire short to the chassis would have a similar set of symptoms and be easier to find and fix.

Beyond that, you need a service tech.

Whirlpool gas oven will not heat

most likely you have a bad ignitor, pull out the racks and remove the floor to the stove, turn on the bake,if the ignitor glows but it takes more than 40 seconds for the flame to light you have a bad ignitor even though it glows and if it doesn't glow at all the ignitor is bad, also if the broil lights on top and the bake doesn't change out the ignitor.next time send the model number and i can look up your machine to help you better.

Oven temp will not change

Most ovens have BAKE, BROIL and yours might have CONVECTION. Turn each on independently. If all don't work its one problem if only one doesn't its another
Also is it the gas doesn't ignite or it ignites then no temp change (or electric gets to xx degrees but doesn't get hotter?

Oven doesn't light. The element glows, but the

Hello Randolph,

Since the ignitor glows it eliminates all other possibilites and the ignitor is weak and not drawing enough amprage(3.3 to 3.6) to open the gas valve, i know you going to have a hard time believing that since it does come on, but i base my diagnosis on my 30 years experience as a appliance repair technician

When i turn on oven all i smell is gas i cleaned with a wire brush still nothing. also is the pilot light always have to be on and can you see it when oven is off

Most gas ovens that aren't electronic ignition usually have a pilot light.
Usually one in the oven area and one for each burner. (Sometimes shared between two burners.)
These pilot lights must lit at all times...otherwise it won't light up and you'll smell gas.
Usually the pilot light is in the very back of the oven and can be seen with the broiler drawer opened.

There is a small set screw located at the pilot light assembly in the oven and also at every burner.
This allows you to adjust pilot light up or down, thereby letting you set pilot light flame to a level that doesn't get blown out by a draft...or you can turn it off completely.

If you use that set screw to turn off the pilot light gas, you'd need to strike a match to light the oven or burners everytime you needed them.

Our 17year old GE gas oven/broiler stopped lighting today. What might be the problem? Stove burners work.

Most likely culprit is the igniter.
When you turn the oven on it opens a gas valve allowing a small amount of gas to flow thru the pilot light. The igniter then lights the pilot and when the sensor determines the pilot is lit it opens th emain gas valve and the oven lights. If the igniter fails and doesn't light the pilot the sensor doesn't heat up and it shuts down the pilot and nothing works.
The igniter is usually accessable under the oven by removing the drawer. It has a single wire attached and looks like a short cigarette made of ceramic witha metal tip.
You didn't provide model number so I can't give you part number but if you look it up here you may be able to get one from Sears

Both lights on the top oven work when using it as an oven but when using it as a grill, they don't! There doesn't appear to be any other fault as the oven and grill still work fine. Any thoughts...

The unit is working as it should. The top oven lights will only come on when the top oven control knob is turned on. The grill control does NOT turn the lights on. If you want to see what you are grilling, then you should turn the top oven control on to its first position. This works even if the grill is operating.
