When I hit the scan button to scan my pictures, I ger a message on the screen of the printer that says "No Scan Optios" Refer to devise documentation to troubleshoot. Can you help me and is there a driver software that I need to install. I do not have my programs that came with the printer as we just moved and I can't find them. Can I download something from the internet to help me use this function? The fax, copier and printing part of the printer works fine. Thank you for your assistance.Eddy

Hello Kamaleddin_e , this no scan option issue occurs when you try to scan from the printer. It usually means , you need to set the destination file type, which is currently not populated (destination file type is the file type to which you want to save the file which you are scanning. If the device finds the list is empty (list of associated file types) , then it displays the "No scan options" error on the printer.
You can populate the destination list by following these steps.
1. Open the HP Solution Center
2. Navigate to Scan Picture Settings (or Scan Settings)
3. Select "Scan to Button" tab
4. Select destination list tab. (Note: If the appropriate programs are already listed as scan destinations, discontinue this procedure. The software must be reinstalled.)
5. There will be 2 colums visible, the left column is the scan destination list on the computer and the right one is for the scan destination list on the printer.
Click each program to include on the Scan To list. Click the Add arrow. The program listing moves from the left side of the screen to the right. Click OK.
6. Now try scanning again from the front panel.

(Note: Please make sure that the HP Digital Imaging Monitor is also running as it is required for the HP software to function properly. You can find it as an icon in the system tray. If there is no icon, then you can run the application by navigating to C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\Bin\HPQTRA08.exe (Assuming C: as your system drive)
Mostly, the issue will be resolved at this stage or else you need to uninstall the software and reinstall it again.

all the best.
thx

How do I set up the scanner on my HP J3680?

use the CD that came with the printer.it has the full feature software that will enable the printing and scanning capability of the printer.
- insert the disk in the CD-ROM drive - hit install - reminder:do not plug in the USB cable yet unless you are prompted by the installer to do so - after installing the software , make a test print to prove the functionality of the printer. - then we move on to test the scanner -there are two ways to make a scan: 1. click on the solution center icon on the desktop. 2. in the solution center , there are two buttons for scanning: scan pictures and scan document 3. scanned documents are saved under the MY SCANS folder. file path is : my documents or simply documents---->MY SCANS 4.for scanned pictures file path is
my pictures or simply pictures---->MY SCANS

Hi all, I have a F380 All in one from HP connected to a HP Pavillion w5540 with Windows XP SP3, and everything is working properly. However, when I hit the "scan button" it opens the utility software...

Do not hit the SCAN button. Instead, use the HP software, and click the "Align" button.
Follow the on-screen instructions (print the page, put the page into the scanner) very carefully.

No scan options

Did you install the full software before connecting the all-in-one to the computer? If the printer not scanning to the local computer or a networked computer? Were you trying to use the scanner buttons?

If this is a local problem (USB connection) uninstall any generic driver (these only drive the printer) and then unplug the data cable. Next download and install the software from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=439491& (select your OS from the list). Connect data cable when prompted to do so. Try a new data cable if the problems persist (scanners require bidirectional communication and will fail when the printer works).
Try a direct connection (no USB hub or print server).

If the computer failed to respond to scanner button press, make sure that the monitoring program is running. You also need to set up the scan destinations in the HP Solution Center for the buttons to work.

If the scanner program isn't running, you can launch them manually. Computer > Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > HP > Digital Imaging > Bin (double click on each of the above drives/folders). Find either Hpiscnapp.exe or Hpqscnvw.exe and double click to launch the HP scan program.

XP, Vista and Win7 can acquire scans without the HP software but the scanner buttons will not work. All three can acquire scans with Paint (File > Import from Scanner or Camera > New Scan). Vista and Win7 also have Windows Fax and Scan (New Scan).

Since you need to set the destinations, you should use the HP software to launch scans first. This lets you get a feel for the defaults that will be best to put into the destinations.

I hope this helps.

(If the unit is networked, I do not know how the software connects.)

Attempt to scan, screen states

This error occurs because the HP scanner can not communicate with your computer and thus won't scan. In most cases this is simply because you don't have all of the necessary drivers installed.
  1. Insert the software CD into your CD ROM drive. The software installer should automatically start
  2. Install the software and restart your computer when prompted
  3. Try to Scan using the Scan To or Start Scan buttons on your printer

Can't scan PLEASE HELP!

SOLUTION: Download the latest version (v 7.7.2) of the HP software from the HP website at www.hp.com. Uninstall the previous software and then reinstall the downloaded software. WORKAROUND: Follow the steps below:
  1. Load the slides or negatives in the TMA and place it on the scanner glass.
  2. Open Image Zone and click on Scan Picture to scan everything.
  3. After the scan is completed, change the settings from glass to scan slide/negative from TMA. The unit will scan again and show the four slides or negatives in the preview.
  4. Click on the first picture in the scan preview and make the following changes:
    • change the dust and scratch removal/sharpness to none
    • change the resolution to 72 dpi
  5. Click on the second picture in the scan preview and make the same changes described above.
  6. Click on the third picture and then the fourth picture and make the same changes.
  7. Click Accept . The correctly scanned slide or negative images will be saved in the Gallery.

Printer all in one and I want to scan a picture to my computer, when I hit the scan button get the blinking lite but nothing else. what am i doing wrong new computer

Hi,
The all in one solution software you used in XP doen't work with Vista.

But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.

1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie HP C3180) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

Hope that helps.

HP 3310 will NOT scan

This issue occurs when the digital imaging monitor is not running or the software is not installed properly.

This issue has nothing to do with the cartridges.

If the printer in connected in wireless, once check the communication between the computer and the printer and then disable the firewall and antivirus and try to scan again from the all-in-one. Also try to scan even from the HP solution center.

If the printer is connected via USB then try to scan from the HP solution center and then check the result, if the issue persists check whether the digital imaging monitor is running or not, then try to scan from scanners and camera wizard.
