From the Toshiba website:

To restore the original factory software image on your computer follow these steps:

  1. Make sure the computer is turned off ("Shut-down" from the Windows Start menu)
  2. Remove any peripherals such an external mouse, keyboard, monitor, USB flash drive etc.
  3. Make sure the AC Adapter is plugged in and working.
  4. Press and hold down the 0 (zero) key on the keyboard while powering on the computer. Release it when the recovery warning screen appears.
  5. If the recovery process offers a choice of Operating Systems, select the appropriate one for you.
  6. A warning screen appears, stating that when the recovery is executed all data will be deleted and rewritten.
  7. Click Yes to continue.
  8. When the Toshiba Recovery Wizard opens select "Recovery of Factory Software" or the appropriate option for your needs.
  9. Continue to follow the directions restarting as necessary.

    Hope this helps...

Hi i havw a toshiba satelite laptop had problems so i put it back to factory settings now i just have a black screen saying saying reboot insert disc or reset

Sounds like the recovery partition is was deleted or corrupted. Easiest solution might be to order recovery disks from the manufacturer or work with someone for a fresh re-install of Windows.

Toshiba Satelite M35X-S111 Beep codes on boot

You need to go into the BIOS (setup) and reset to factory defaults first. This should clear up the issue.

I hav a toshiba satelite mod pslcou-02501f whan i start it up it says missing operating system what should i do

You've got two options:
1. Install a fresh copy of Windows. To do that put the Windows CD in, start up and press any key to boot from CD when prompted then follow the screen instructions.

2. Restore the factory settings on your laptop if you have the CD that came with the laptop. In order to do this put the CD in and on boot up press the F key associated with system restore (this will be at the bottom of the screen on start up).

My acer labtop screen is plain black with a little blue box that says enter current password but i dont know the password and i want to reset my labtop back to factory settings

One way to solve it is to gather all the things that you need to format and freshly install a new copy of your OS. You will need:

1. Bootable OS installer like Windows XP or Vista
2. Your laptop's driver installer, that is 1 cd installer shipped with your laptop.

A. Insert the Bootable OS Installer to start setup. Just follow the on-screen instructions and choose the option to delete existing partitions if you want a fresh install. If you dont want a fresh install, just install it using the existing partition so you will not be able to format and lose all data.

B. After OS installation is complete, install the drivers from the cd installer for your laptop. If you lost it, download all the drivers from the manufacturer's site. Only download drivers specific for your particular model.

Bring to factory settings

Hi,

Thanks for using FixYa!

You can always reinstall the operating system but you need to buy the software. Then download the device drivers for the laptop. The Toshiba website has all the drivers for your laptop. Another possible solution is for you guys to contact toshiba and ask if they can provide the factory restore CD for your laptop.

Have a nice day.

Reboot to factory settings w/o startup disk Satelite A75-S1253

Hi there,
If it has a recovery partition you should be able to access it by pressing the 0 key while powering the laptop on. Give that a shot and see if the Toshiba recovery wizard comes up.
