I. "To "Enable" the Pointer Device using the Touch-Pad, go to, Control Panel, click on the "Start Button."
in the [Right] short-cutmenu, select to open the Control Panel. In the next window, choose the ("Mouse") applet,
in the "Hardware and Sound" category; go to, "Device Settings" in the (Devices) block.
II. "Highlight"; the item you want to (enable) this being
the Pointer Device." Click the (Enable) button,
just below. Be sure to (Click) on the "Apply" button, 
and click OK. "III.You may need to "Update Drivers?" Click on "Hardware, click "Properties," click, on Driver." If the, Update Driver (block) is not "Grayed-out;" click "Update Driver," and click (OK), this will ensure that the application take effect. 
Note: Restarting the computer will configure system changes in the computer applications to prevent errors, and to finalize the (Installing / Uninstalling) of programs, and or (Enabling / Disabling) of Hardware.
