If your car battery died, your Kenwood stereo will ask you for a code. There are various ways to enter the security code; this depends on the model of your Kenwood stereo.
Look in your manual and see what the security code is for your particular Kenwood stereo. There are common security codes on many Kenwood stereos. Kenwood claims security, but its stereos have many of the same security codes. Here are three common security codes: 1-2-3-4 (a code many Kenwood owners use), 3-0-5-1 (a common security code in Kenwood manuals) and KCAR (works on some Kenwood stereo models). You should have a code within the pages of your manual. Luckily, many Kenwood stereos have the same security codes.
Enter the security code into your Kenwood radio. Method #1: During the code request mode, while holding the DISP key depressed, press and hold the "Volume UP" or "DOWN" key for three seconds until the " ... " display disappears. Enter the security code using your Kenwood remote. Method #2: Press the "Auto" and "Track Up" button on the face of radio at the same time until the four dash lines disappear. Enter the security code using your Kenwood remote. Method #3: Press and hold the "One" then the "Six" preset keys until the display shows the letter "C." Enter the security code using your Kenwood remote.
Tips:
If you did not have your manual, try the most common codes for Kenwood stereos. If those codes don't work, you can also buy your Kenwood stereo code online. There are places online that will sell you the security code to your Kenwood stereo.
Keep your security code and this information in a safe place.
Thanks for choosing FixYa. More then likely, you need to enter the unlock code on your radio. It locks up when there is a power loss. As far as the code, it may be in your owner manual or you may need to contact Ford to get it.
You will have to contact the previous owner to get the code otherwise you will have to buy a new stereo. There is a possibilty of being able to contact kenwood they might be able to reset it but it costs about 60 dollars to do so. I'm sorry..
In order for you to get the security code you will have to contact Kenwood and pay a charge of £10. You will need a copy of the receipt OR your driving license, the model number and your name, address and contact number so you can be contacted for payment.
If you bought the stereo before 2009 use this page. If you bought it during or after 2009 then use this one.
Kenwood auth service tech can do it if you can convice him it's not stolen. Owner has put a security code in it. If the stereo is removed or the battery has been disconnected you can't use it if you don't know the security code. Anti theft works great. He will check seial number with database.
Look for a really small hole in the face plate. Put a tip of a pen into it. Press it in and then it should turn on. If this doesn't work, take it to a place that installs them, they'll help....Usually for free....
you should try the defaults 0000,0123,1234. in most cases unless you or the original owner put in the security code. Worse case it will just keep turning off till you get it right.
I found this on a forum and some people got it to work, If you do not have the remote I do not know any more about what to do for you.
During the code request mode, while holding the DISP key depressed, press and hold the Volume UP or DOWN key for 3 seconds (so that “…” disappears). Then using your remote enter your code
