It might not be the swivel that has done it but an electrical fault on the board. The first thing to check for is dry solder joints on the sound amplification board and if this is not the case then it could well be a faulty component. Unfortunately in the World of electronics the age of an appliance does not guarantee how long it will stay fault free. Hope this helps.

The sound is gone! What should I do^

If you have cable TV, check to make sure your sound is adjusted there. Could be one of the kids turned it down or something. If that isn't it,. look for dogs chewing wire from your set to the amp?

Half the display panel is black on rca tv, if i tap the tv it comes back on. could it be a short in the wiring? i need a wiring diagram for a l42fhd37r model

It is most likely a loose ribbon cable from the TCON board to the flat panel itself. They commonly come loose when the TV is on a swivel stand and is moved frequently. This is because the swivel motion often causes a slight twisting of the LCD frame and this works the ribbon cables loose.

HDMI input says "mode not compatible"

If your Playstation is putting out the signal in 1080p then try changing it to 1080i and see if that works. Not all TVs are compatible with 1080p.

My sound has gone is this a common fault and Is it easy fixed

Hello,

If the sound of the television is gone, then there seem to be a problem with the sound ic, it is cheap to fix, but the problem is not common with the television. All television comes up with one fault or the other, and some might not develop any fault for years. It depends on the condition in which it is being used or the quality of the component that is in the television.

Hope this helped.

Dear sir as im facing a problem in my sansui pj42multiplex that the fbt has got spark and the tv gone into standby....but after replacing the fbt the set dosent goes to power on mode...kindly help me

That sounds like the uProcessor has been damaged by the static discharge when the fbt arced out. Unfortunately this sort of added fault is common.
Check there is oscillator at the uProcessor. If there is then the fault is possibly elsewhere and the next stage is the line oscillator control board signals.

Tv accoustic solutions bought from argos 2yrs old . press remote blue light comes on and nothing happens wont go on a station or give a screen to play exbox

without knowing which set you have, its hard to be specific, however, from experience, the switch mode power supply will give this signal to tell you that it is not happy driving one or more of the boards attached to it ( ie/ the board is drawing too much current ). This is a safety feature to prevent further damage to the set, and will require examination by a competent engineer... sorry cant help more, but diagnosis shouldnt cost much as this is a common fault, and will generally call for replacement of the offending panel - anywhere between 50 and 200 pounds :-(

Probably a failling DC-DC invertor which powers the back light, it's the most common fault with LCD TV's check to see if there is a wear kit available.

www.lcdtvparts.co.uk is a good site for spares
