That is a BIOS error. 2 beeps means a post error one or more of the components is not working correctly.

This is a problem with your memory.

During POST, the computer checks the computer's memory, determines the amount of installed memory, and then writes to and reads from the number of available bytes to ensure proper operation.
Basic Checks:

  • If an insufficient memory message appears, save and close any open files and exit any open application programs not in use.

  • Consider installing additional system memory.

  • Run the System Memory test in the Dell Diagnostics.

  • Reseat the memory modules.

  • Restart the computer.
If the problem still exists after you complete the basic checks, fill out the Diagnostic Checklist as you perform the following steps.
caution.gif CAUTION: Before you perform this procedure, see "Safety Information."
  1. Reboot the computer.
Does the RAM count displayed correctly match the actual amount of memory installed in the computer?
Yes. The computer needed to update the memory count. The problem is resolved.
No. Go to step 2.
  1. Run the System Memory test group in the Dell Diagnostics.
Did any of the diagnostics tests fail?
Yes. Contact Dell for technical assistance.
No. Go to step 3.
  1. Turn off the computer and peripherals, disconnect them from their electrical outlets, wait at least 5 seconds, and then open the computer cover.

  2. Rotate the power supply away from the system board.

  3. Replace the memory module(s).

  4. Close the computer cover, reconnect the computer and peripherals to their electrical outlets, and turn them on.
Does the RAM count displayed correctly match the actual amount of memory installed in the computer?
Yes. The memory module(s) were defective. The problem is resolved.
No. Contact Dell for technical assistance.

That beep code indicates memory is not being properly identified or used. Try removing memory and testing with one module at a time until you find the one module or slot that is causing the trouble.

SOURCE: dell inspiron 530s won't boot up and gives me 4

Dageezer is correct. I had the exact same problem. I unplugged the computer, discharged the power by pressing the power button a few times, and then opened the case. I removed one of the memory cards and tried again. This time is started to power up. I then discharged the unit again and re-seated the memory card I took out. Turned on the power again and now everything works. Not sure why it stopped working to begin with, since I haven't had any problems in over 2 years, but now it's OK (for now). Thanks.

Fix the 80010514 error on your PS3

If your Play Station 3 (PS3) gets the 80010514 error somewhere, you can try this to resolve the problem:

1. Make sure that the power indicator on the Play Station 3 system is solid red. To do this, press and hold the power button until the PS3 beeps and the light blinks. Once the light has turned solid red, turn the power switch in the back off.

2. Turn the switch back on, then press and hold the power button.

3. Keep holding the power button even after you hear a short beep after 5 seconds.

4. After 10 seconds, you will hear another short beep and the system will shut down (release the button at this point).

5. Press and hold the power button again.

6. Continue holding the power button even after you hear a short beep after 5 seconds.

7. Release the button when two short beeps are emitted after 7 seconds.

8. As instructed by the on-screen message, plug in the controller and press the PS button

9. Select restore Play Station 3 system.

This should not affect any of your save games, demos, etc. but just to be safe you might want to back up to an external USB hard drive.

To backup saves, go to the Play Station 3 Save Data Utility, select the save you wish to copy and hit the Triangle button. Copy should come up as one of the options. If it does not then the save game is copyright protected and can’t be copied. If you can copy it, make sure you have a USB drive attached and copy it to that.

The dryer just stopped and now wont turn on

WAKE THE WASHER BY PRESSING ANY BUTTON.

WAIT 5 SECONDS.

PRESS AND HOLD THE START AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS SIMULTANEOUSLY.

ALL LED'S WILL GO BLANK AND AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE CONTROL WILL SIGNAL THE STORED CODE USING AUDIBLE BEEPS AND BLINKING LED'S. THE CONTROL WILL REPEATEDLY SIGNAL THE CODE, AS LONG AS THE START AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS ARE PRESSED. A TWO-SECOND PAUSE BETWEEN REPEATS AFFORDS YOU THE ABILITY TO MAKE ACCURATE COUNTS TO IDENTIFY THE CORRECT ERROR CODES.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: ON A SMALL NUMBER OF WASHERS WITH SERIAL

NUMBER PREFIX XC4, IF THE PREVIOUS PROCEDURE DOES NOT PREFORM AS

SPECIFIED, FOLLOW THE OPTION BELOW:

* FOLLOW ALL PREVIOUS STEPS BUT INSTEAD OF PRESSING START AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS, PRESS AND HOLD OPTIONS AND PAUSE/CANCEL BUTTONS."

*THE CONTROL WILL PAUSE FOR 2 SECONDS, THEN REPEAT THE CODE AS LONG AS THE TWO BUTTONS ARE PRESSED AND HELD."

NOTE: A LETTER APPEARING IN THE CODE STANDS FOR A NUMBER HIGHER THAN NINE: A=10 B=11 C=12 D=13 E=14 F=15 "

"EXAMPLE CODE F1: THE FIRST DIGIT WOULD BE 15 AND THE SECOND WOULD BE 1. IF THIS CODE WOULD APPEAR ON A WASHER IN THE GOOD MODEL LINE, THE FIVE INDICATOR LIGHTS WOULD BLINK FIFTEEN TIMES AND THE START INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD

I have a mitsubishi model #ws-a65 when you turn it on it turns off after 20 seconds and then later it turns on but no picture ever comes up

This model should have the self-check feature.

when it shuts off and the green light on the front goes out:
Press and hold both the menu and input (device)buttons at the same time and hold them for at least five seconds and release both buttons.

The power light should blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat several times.

The error code will point to what the problem may be; 1,2 is no error found, 2,2 is short protection etc.

It says improper shut down then freezes up and turns itself off

First make sure your PS3 is powered off and unplugged.
1. Plug your PS3 in.
2. Now hold you power button on the ps3 down, you will hear one beep, followed by another 5 seconds later, and a third one 5 seconds after that. After that the PS3 power light will turn red. You can now let go of the button.
3. Hold your power button down again, you will hear one beap, followed by another beep 5 seconds later, and then you will hear a double beep 5 seconds after that. After you hear the double beep, let go of the power button.
4. Now some words will come up on the screen saying to connect your controller.
5. You must connect your USB cord to your ps3 and connect the other end to your controller.
6. A selection menu will now appear.
7. Select the option "3. Restore File System" and press X.
8. Now follow the on screen dialog and once the restoration has completed your PS3 will be back to normal.

Please note: Following this guide will leave your Game Data and Save Files intact, you do not need to worry about this process deleting your Save Files or any other data. Your ps3 will be just like it was before it messed up.

The PS3 works fine but freezes in career mode of MLB 10 The Show. Is this also an over heating issue?

It doesn't sound like an overheating issue, more of either a disc read issue or firmware issue.

Please try my following tip for re-installing the firmware. If this does not fix it then try cleaning the laser lens.

Failing that, if it is an overheating problem usually it will tell you with an onscreen prompt or shut down with a flashing yellow light

Step 1.

Turn your Playstation 3 off into standby mode (red light on)

Step 2.

Press and hold the power button. The Playstation 3 will beep when you first press it, then beep again 5 seconds later and then beep once more and turn off back into standby mode (red light on). You must now release the power button.

Step 3.

Press and hold the power again. The Playstation 3 will beep when you first press it, beep again 5 seconds later then there will be 2 quick beeps together. When you hear these 2 quick beeps release the power button.

Step 4.

Your Playstation 3 will now start up with a screen asking you to connect a controller via USB. Connect your controller and then press the PS button.

Step 5.

A menu will now be displayed on screen. Select option 3 "Restore File System". This will then ask you to confirm that you wish to go ahead with the system restore. Accept whatever the Playstation 3 says

Hopefully this will cure the problem on its own.

Hope this helps

It turns on but nothing comes up on the tv and wont turn back off

This is a problem with your system software. Please follow these steps to fix it :

Step 1. Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Step 2. Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, then beep again 5 seconds later and then beep once more and turn back off into standby(red light on) . Release the power button after it has switched itself back off.

Step 3. Again, press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, then beep again 5 seconds later, then there will be 2 quick beeps together. Release the power button when you hear these 2 quick beeps.

Step 4. The PS3 will start up asking you to connect a controller via USB and press the PS button. Do this an then continue to the next step.

Step 5. A menu will load with 6 options. Choose option 3 "Restore File System". Accept whatever the PS3 says and hopefully it will restart as normal.

If option 3 does not work, do the above again and choose option 4, "Rebuild Database". If this does not work as a last resort select option 5, "Restore PS3 System". THIS WILL ERASE ALL DATA ON YOUR DRIVE!!

One of these options will bring your PS3 back to life.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa

TV turns on, then turns itself off about 2 seconds later.

set has a self diagnostic---after set does shut down press and hold MENU AND DEVICE(INPUT) buttons on front of set for 5 seconds----if 2 blinks, a pause and 2 more blinks: this is short protection error code---The set does use 2 Stk394-250 and each is protected by a pico fuse in the power supply---if either fuse is blown the set will shut down(it detects no voltage or missing voltage;) It is not uncommon for a shorted IC to cause this problem; if you locate the STK's look carefully at the resistors around them---if any are discolored or burnt---you have found your problem.
