It should explain the process. I use a smoker a lot so my tips are, keep the temps as close to 225 as possible, reload your charcoal as soon as the temps start falling, don't peak, and patience will make for really good cooks.
There is so much information on this topic on the internet. Google "cooking with a smoker" and you will have so much fun looking at recipes and techniques you won't know where to begin. So get going and start smokin some great food. Have fun!
