The best thing to do is take it into a camera store. If it isn't taken out properly, it can cause further damage to the camera.

If the door is slightly open you should be able to manually open the door.

How do I fix the tape holder system on my camcorder? The door won't lock, and the cassette won't get inside the compartment.

hi,
is it close without a cassette ? if so the reel sensor in the cassette compartment may be faulty. if the head drum not rotates the cassette drive will not work correctly, if so please loosen the head drum with a plastic rod or some tools like that. do not put your finger in hence sometimes will jam your finger. remember don"t touch the scanning chip of the head.

what you have to do is ejecting the tape, and as soon as it starts to eject , close the door immediately, then safeguard mode should be gone, and you will be able to eject normally.

Cassette holder mechanism wont close all the way. Will go part the way down and then come back up and eject

Look carefully inside for something jamming the carriage. If everything is clean and free there is a sensor not registering.

The cassette holder isn't closing......and the tape is not loading

Hi
See if this works--If you are on battery there may not be enough power .Charge the battery or use the the mains power through the transformer and see if it works.
Hope this helps

Can not load any cassette even empty cassette holder can not be closed.

I had the same problem and solved it by removing the battery to allow the camera to reset. Worked fine after that.

Cassette Jam

The most frequent cause of this type situation is not having a power source attached, or a depleted battery pack. Once the power source is available, some models require manually unlatching and opening the cassette compartment cover. When the cover is fully open, the videocassette will eject automatically. Please try the following procedures. 1. Attach the power source to the camcorder correctly or use a fully-charged battery pack. 2. Fully-open the cassette compartment cover until it stops while sliding and holding the OPEN/EJECT switch. The videocassette will eject automatically after a few seconds.
