Denon avr 1403 will no longer power up. When power button is depressed, it no longer stays depressed, and no front display lights operate with the exception of the standby light. Switched outlet on back still turns on and off

SOURCE: Denon AVR-1403 connected to DVD can hear music but no dialougue!!

Check the center channel speaker and the surround sound audio settings. If you do not have a center speaker, it needs to be set to off on the receiver.

SOURCE: Denon AVR-1403 receiver switched from digital to analogue.

There are three modes (Auto, DTM, and PCM) on the input mode switch, on the main unit, selected by repeatedly pressing the input mode switch.

However, if you have already depressed the Analog button in, on the main unit you have predetermined the mode as analog.

On the remote, the INPUT MODE switch combines toggles for 5 choices, [Auto, PCM, DTS, Analog,
Ext. input]

My guess is that either the input mode switch on the main unit and/or the remote are toggled to analog.

Denon AVR-1403/483One of the speakers when connected trips the units power off.
Disconnected it and it works OK without that channel. Connected a different speaker and wire to that channel and it does the same, trips power off. It's acting like a when two wires are shorted. This is not the case as I have tried different wires and speaker. Not sure whats going on. Presently running system without that channel. Hope someone has an idea.

I must have over loaded the (2)ea AC power outlets on the back of my Denon 1403. Is there an internal fuse that can be replaced? Everything elese appears to be operating properly.

Hi, Yes there usually are internal fuses-sometimes they are located on the switches small circuit board either near the front close to where switch is on the unit, or there will be a plastic connecting lever leading from the front to the back somewhere. Other wise they will be located near the power supply section-possibly near the transformer. I hope this helped, and thanks for using FixYa, Good luck, Prodzilla
