The ice maker stopped working a year after we purchased. I was told the motor went bad and I need a new one...the spring on the door is broken too...what to do? Will Whirlpool fix it since my home owner won't?

Yes seeing how your unit is only a year old your unit would still be under warranty if you bought the extension as long as you bought the unit new and not from a second hand or scratch and dent type of business in which if you did then you would have to call them for the warranty. If you bought the unit at lowes on the other hand there is only a one year warranty on the unit so it depends exactly how long ago you purchased the unit and from where. If you have any further questions message me back Thanks Rick

How do you fix a refrigerator compressor clunk?

The usual cause of this problem, especially on GE models, is that the compressor is bad. Specifically, the motor inside the compressor, which is supported by springs for noise isolation, probably has a broken spring, allowing the motor to hit the outer shell of the compressor when it stops. The good news is that it can continue to work with the broken spring for a long time. The bad news is it is essentially impossible to repair or replace the spring. You can have somebody replace the compressor, you can replace the fridge (not another clunker from GE), or you can put up with the noise, knowing that every time it clunks, it has just cooled everything inside.

Does anyone know how to reset ice maker and water dispense on bosch side by side fridge

you should always provide your model number with your questions here helps us determine what you have but knowing that you have this brand of refrigerator also means that you probably are going to have to talk to the factory they are the only ones that provide the parts for that that refrigerator at this point I think you have a bad electrical connection in the door or either the door switch

Ice maker dispenser is not functioning (crushed or cubed), Ice maker makes ice but does not dispense, motor seems to be frozen. Kenmore Elite 106.57703701 model refrigerator

Open the door and hold the door switch down and try the ice dispenser. Do you hear any thing. You should hear the ice door open and the augur motor turning to turn the augur which pushes the ice out the door. If the augur doesn't turn Take all the ice out of the bin and try. perhaps the motor is too weak or the augur is locked up. Take the bin out and try to see if the motor will turn with no load. The motor is behind the back cover where the bin sits. See if you get power to it using a voltmeter when you try the dispenser. If you are, probably bad motor. If not ,dispenser switch or solenoid is not working.

There is a solenoid that operates the door that could have stopped working. Can you hear it?
The hinge on the door could be broken or the bracket it goes in could be broken. You'll have to look to see what's wrong.

Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components.

LG has problems with there ice makers. if is less than a year old it is under warrenty--even if you dont have a reciept. sounds like the ice maker needs replaced. i have replaced several that were less than a year old.

Ice dispensing motor (IDI Motor) inoperative

I had the same problem. GS6NBEXRS00 is 4 years old. Intermittently the ice dispenser would stall. Usually in crush mode, but occasionally stalled in cube mode. A sharp bang on the front of the door or the back of the ice dispenser from inside the freezer would get it working again for a short time. Went through the same steps you did. Replacing ice dispensing motor 2252130 fixed it.

Ice maker stopped working

I just had the same problem. You need to purchase a new motor module part numnber #8021515. I purchased mine at a Sears Service Center for 77.59. I installed it yesterday and again now have ice. Took about 10 mintutes to install. The tricky little part is removing the old one. Unscrew the three screws, and there is a white tab that needs to be pressed together (use tweezers) to remove the unit from the shut off arm.

I REPLACED ICE MAKER UNIT BECAUSE REPAIR MAN TOLD ME THAT THE HUMMINING NOISE WAS DUE TO ICE MAKER BEING STUCK IN A CYCLE. AFTER REPLACEMENT THE NOISE IS STILL THERE. WHEN I SHUT THE ICE MAKER OFF NOISE...

theres ice in the fan propelar, if you see no ice blocking the propellers its the fan motor itself,if you unplug the fridge and stick something thin between the vents where you feel the air blowing thru and try turning the fan, gently and it spins smooth its the fan motor,if you dont wish to do this turn freezer off, open the door and let it defrost, then plug it in if buzz still there its the fan motor

Ice maker issues

The boards put the 120 volts to the ice maker. If you open the door the red light on the board in the center should blink two time repeatedly. If you push the flap on the left in the light should be solid. If you push in the light switch for the door the light should go out.

Ice Maker Problem

The "ice maker module" is pretty vague. THere's lots of things that work together to make ice. Could be a bad motor, a bad solenoid (electric valve that lets the water in), a broken gear, a loose wire, or just frozen up. If you havent pinpointed the problem, you are probably wasting money buying a new "ice maker module". I'd advise looking for obvious problems (frozen/jammed, no water input, broken looking stuff) and if you dont see anything, call a repairman.
