Just bought new laptop - acer aspire 5520. The cd driver was workling but wouldnt find the burner even though it is a dvd rw??? now it wont even play cd's - cannot find cd driver?

my acer aspire 5520 will play dvds and cd but wont burn any dvds, data or otherwise, the last thing i tried was a data disk and it said failed to format disk ? .i have wasted so many dvds when i tried to back up a dvd, it partial burned then failed. do i realy have to take it back or is their something i can do

go and try to open in safe mode .
restart >press F8.
see whether it work's..if not go to the bios setup and see the configuration and sellect . restart > delete . (for bios setup..).

cd drive acer aspire 5520
will not read my DVD's or CDs afeter recovereing my computer ... but it opens and closes.. looked everywhere for the driver. cannot find it on acer site. help?
Same thing. As of today, my dvd/cd drive is not recognized by Windows, even though the drive physically opens, closes and spins just fine. I need this working ASAP! Any help, please email me:
