There are lots of procedure to hack the region code of coby dvd 224 unit. And it depends on where you are to get the right procedures and codes..
Below are the list of them that you may want to try to successfully unlock your unit. But be patient, because as I said these are list that you will need to try..
Believe me It's worth trying. Let me know which one works with you. Thanks.
Unlock 1.)
1. Power-On the unit
2. Open the disc tray (remove any disc)
3. Press 33088 plus the region you want (Example: For region 5, press 330885......For region 3, press 330883)
4. Open/Close the disc tray
5. Turn off the unit (during these steps you won't see anything in the display)
(Put CD and check if it´s ok, or try
again)
Unlock 2.)
1. Power on the unit
2. Press Setup and release,
3. Press Vol +, Vol-, Vol +, Vol -, (RC appears on the upper right of the screen)
4. (Number shows up) Change to 255 (All region) using right arrow
5. Press Setup again.
6. Turn off the unit.
(Note: to some, having a disk inside the unit when doing the steps worked... but for most users, no disk inside the tray when doing this steps worked.
Unlock 3.)
Make sure you have no DVD in the tray.
On the remote control:
1. Press TITLE
2. Press 1 and then 9 (On the TV.. a large box with a small number will appear.
The number indicates for which DVD region the machine has been set, for example "2" for Germany or "0" for no region code.)
3) Press the up arrow or down arrow to raise or lower the number.
4) Press ENTER
Unlock 4)
1) Connect your dvd player to TV.
2) Switch on TV & DVD player.
3) On remote, press open/close to open the tray.
4) On remote, press 9735 (when you press 9 or 7 or 3, in TV it displays "Invalid key"....don't worry keep pressing...9735).
5) You will see a menu which has region codes from 0 to 6.
6) Select 0 for all regions (or) any other code you want.
7) exit the menu.
8) press open/close on the remote to close the tray.
9) power off dvd player & power it ON again.

My dvd player says "wrong
Sounds like the DVD/Blue ray laser has gotten dust on it.
I would go to your local electronics store and purchase a cleaning disk. They are normally under $10. Insert it and run it though the player.
This sound no more serious than a dirty read laser.

Where can i get the battery 7100 coby TF in fresno and do they have one ?
Have you already removed the battery? There will be information on it telling you which battery to use as a replacement. As a general rule I would suggest you Don't start taking things apart if you are not sure what you are doing! You could cause more problems than you're trying to fix. Ask at your local TV repair shops and even some of the computer repairers. They may be able to help you. You would have to ask them directly if they have one in stock but commonly if it isn't a commonly used battery they will have to order one in for you.
If you have the battery details you might be able to get one online.
HOW DO I PROGRAM MY COBY UNIVERSAL REMOTE CRC-02
If you don't have the code for your device, you can use the auto search method to find the correct code. Here are the steps:
Turn on the device you want to program.
Press and hold the Setup button on your remote until the LED light turns on.
Press the device button (TV, DVD, CBL, etc.) for the device you want to program.
Press the CH+ or CH- button repeatedly until the device turns off.
Press the Power button to turn the device back on. If it turns on, the remote is programmed successfully.
