When I try to play

There might be some buttons somewhere on your monitor which you can use to adjust the position and size of the display on your screen. You can use that as a walkaround. Otherwise you will see what the resolution rate (pixels at width and height) is of the game screens and adjust the resolution of your computer to it or you may need to adjust the driver of your graphic card to be compatible with the game or buy a compatible graphic card. I am not sure what is the name of the game and the model of your computer. Email me for further assistance. [email protected]

Hannspree 20" HF207 monitor display

The drivers is not a problem for your case. If you can not select the 1600X900 resolution (this is the native resolution for your monitor) the problem is at your VGA; it does not support this resolution. What is brand / model is your VGA (or if you use the on board at the motherboard what brand / model is your motherboard)?

In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Adjusting the horizontal & vertical to be proportionate

You need to set the correct resolution for your monitor,

To do this, minimize all windows, and right click on your desktop (not on an icon). Select properties, and go to Settings on the tabs on top.

Drag the slider until your resolution matches that of the monitor. I use mine on 1600 x 1050. However if your card doesn't go that high, try either the next ones down until it looks normal, or try a driver update for your graphics card.

We bought a new Hannspree in November, now all at

chummel36, Find your warranty and then yell and scream at them about poor quality and premature failure, but only after you connect to a different known good pc and see if your monitor still acts crazy. Learn to do the flashlight test to determine partial or full shutdown state of monitors "switch-mode-power-supply" when screen goes black or blank n black!!! Spend some time in my fixya profile reading about black screen problems before you do anything else. 12fixlouie

Monitor shuts down after 8 seconds

brian967, Well we know what happened after 8 seconds! Now tell me all about seconds 1, 2, 3, 4....7???? You could also tell me if the LCD panel is BLACK or BLACK and BLANK??? How old is the unit? Do you own a soldering pencil 25-40watt? Haven't you visited YOUTUBE to see video clips of "LCD monitor disassembly"/"LCD monitor repair" ??? How is your PC doing? Is it working perfectly when connected to a KNOWN GOOD monitor??? Will your LCD monitor (unknown model#) do same thing when connected to KNOWN GOOD pc? Do you know and understand the BLACK SCREEN flashlight test to evaluate "switch-mode-power-supply" status?? Do you have a digital camera for taking 2 to 3 inch "close-ups" of parts on circuit boards? Does this unit have a "lay on floor" black brick switch-mode-supply, or does unit plug directly into the power-strip or wall outlet(internal SMPS)??? Brian, do some reading in my FIXYA profile so that you will understand all of your options for repairing your unit. But more important is that I want you to know the ROOT CAUSE for your need to repair something that should not have failed in the first place. Get back with reply to this response, if you need assistance. Good luck on your repair. 12fixlouie

Have 20" 207HPB model, not

Hi,

Here's what the manual says to do when you experience this problem:

*Make sure PC audio output cable is connected to screen’s LINE IN port (or AUDIO IN port).
*Make sure the sound volume adjustment can be clearly identified.
*Make sure the System > Silence option in the monitor menu is on.
*While transferring via HDMI port but no sound is outputted, it is recommended to select AUDIO INPUT as a PC option, and make sure PC audio output cable is connected to monitor’s LINE IN port(or AUDIO IN port). [For HDMI Input only]

I'd start with those suggestions first.

Here's a link to all the manuals and drivers for you product.

Product Homepage

Keep in mind the monitor itself might not be the problem a quick and easy way to find out if sound is coming out from the computer is to try a pair of speakers or some headphones. Checking that out will help us narrow down the source of the problem.

Let me know what happens with the above.

Error on monitor: Input signal out of range.

Hello mcarsten,

Your monitor may not be configured to the correct resolution for the second monitor. If you right click on an empty space on the desktop and then select properties, the display properties will appear. Click on the last tab on the top right. It should be settings or something like that. You should see two boxes with the numbers 1 and 2 in them. Next click on box number 2 and try using the slider below and changing it to different resolutions for your monitor.

Hopefully one of these should work for you.
