Protect:- The speaker wire has a short circuit, or touches the chassis of the vehicle, then the Protect function is activated. Wire or insulate the cable properly and then press the reset button. If the "Protect" code does not disappear, consult your nearest service centre.

Kenwood deck reads protect and won't function

you have one of your speaker wires shorted out to the body of the car somewhere, or the speakers that you installed are bad. That is the only two reasons it will go into protect. Correct the problem, then reset the deck - it should work fine.
Kenwood builds this feature in to protect the outputs - so they dont burn up in the case of shorted speakers or wiring.

How to turn off this blasted DEMO mode on MP235

Once in standby you have to press and hold the button to get into the menu. Once in the menu, you use the joystick control on the right to navigate to "Demo" and toggle it to "off" (can't remember off the top of my head... you either have to press the joystick in and hold it to toggle or just move it up/down...). Once done, just press Source to exit.

HONDA ACCORD 2006 v4

I am posting the procedure for clearing the security code below. You must have the remote to clear the code, there is no other way to do this. If you do not have a remote, maybe you can borrow one from somebody. If not, you will need to take it to an authorized Kenwood service center and they can do it for a small fee of around $25 (that's what my shop charges).

If you can not read this very well, let me know and I will type out the instructions for you.

No volume

Protect is on because one of your speaker's or wires is shorted out. It comes on to protect the amp from frying, check ALL of your wiring and speakers for shorts to ground, NONE of the speaker wires should go to chassis ground only the stereos negative (-) speaker termina.l
Checking your speaker is easy, take a (D) cell battery and a couple of wires and connect the wires to the speaker, you should hear a click if the speaker is working properly. Good Luck

Chrysler Part No. P56038933AB Radio Wire Color code

1982 to 2001 wiring harness color code Chrysler.

12V constant pink or pink/white stripe
12V accessory red/white stripe
Antenna/Amp turn on white
12V Illumination black/yellow stripe
Left front + dark green
Left front - brown/red stripe
Right front + purple
Right front - blue/red stripe
Left rear + brown/blue stripe
Left rear - brown/yellow stripe
Right rear + blue/ orange stripe
Right rear - blue/white stripe

there is no ground wire in the harness, the metal braided strap is the ground.
use a ring terminal, speed clip, and screw to attach the ground wire from new radio
when replacing infinity radios and speakers, there are 4 wires instead of 2 at the speaker plug. the large gauge blue and black wires are the power supply for the amp, the other 2 are signal wires from the deck and will match up to the wire color codes above. simply cap off the power and ground and use the other 2 for speaker leads.

One thing i hate to see is someone who just hacks off the plugs behind the radio because they are too cheap/lazy/dumb to buy a wire harness adapter for the nice new aftermarket deck they just bought. ive seen everything from masking tape to house wire nuts used to connect wires, and they never last.
there is only 1 reliable permanent way to connect wires together - SOLDER AND SHRINK WRAP!!! whether you're connecting wiring for a radio, fog lights, repairing a cut wire, etc solder those wires, you'll be glad you did when you never have a problem with that circuit again.

This is a listing for part #'s for dash kits wire harness adapters
all part numbers are metra unless otherwise noted
dash kit 99-6700, 99-6701 and 99-6500 will work for most cars
wire harness adapter 70-1817
reverse harness( to replace factory plug that have been cut off) 71-1817
speaker adapter plugs 72-6510, non amped 72-6513 when equiped w infinity system and bypassing fact amps

no antenna adapters are required until you hit 2002 model year.
beginning in 2005 chrysler switched to a high speed LAN system in all its cars and trucks. there is no longer a switched ignition lead in the harness.
Good Luck

No sound after installation on a kenwood kdc 30-11

wellllll the most common cause of no sound it that there is a factory amplifier in the vehicle that is not turning on with the radio.. this is done by using the remote turn on wire from the aftermarket deck. or it could be a blown speaker that is shorting out the amp in the deck
