For a Kenwood KDC-MP235
I've followed the instructions carefully - entered standby mode using the SRC key, then held the control button at least two seconds. Still spams out the demo messages a few seconds later. Any hints appreciated !

Re: How to turn off this blasted DEMO mode on MP235
Once in standby you have to press and hold the button to get into the menu. Once in the menu, you use the joystick control on the right to navigate to "Demo" and toggle it to "off" (can't remember off the top of my head... you either have to press the joystick in and hold it to toggle or just move it up/down...). Once done, just press Source to exit.

You have to have the deck in "standby" mode before entering the settings menu. Press the source button until Standby comes up, then press and hold the menu button. Use the 4-way switch to scroll through the menu options until you get to AUX, then press the switch to the right to turn it on.
Here is how to set the clock :
Enter standby Mode: Press the [SRC] button,Select the "Standby" display.
Select clock Adjustment mode: Push the control knob towards FM or AM, thenn Select the CLK ADJ display.
Enter Clock Adjust mode: Press the control knob at least 1 second until the clock display blinks.
Adjust the Hours: Push the control knob towards AM or FM
Adjust the Minutes: Push the control knob towards |<< or >>|
Exit Clock adjustment mode: Press the [Menu] button.
That should do it!
there is a small button just to the right and under the control knob. Push and hold this button in standby mode. That will reset the unit. Once the unit is reset, you will need to set all of your other settings as well as the security code.
Once reset, press the SRC display until you are in standby mode. Now Press Enter. Code set should be displayed. using the control knob (Up, down left and right) set the security code. The unit will ask you to confirm this. Once you enter it twice, the unit will read "APPROVED." Now you can set your filters and other settings and enjoy!
hey dear, just do this if you wanna set AUX function: turn off your head unit.. when is in standby mode, press the volume knob and hold it pressed until it appears some words... then start moving on to differente options by clicking left-right of the right knob... you will find aux on-off
not sure if standby mode, or completely turned off (to turn it off just click the SRC mode a few seconds)
Get into (standby mode) by hitting source (src) button until screen says "Standby".
M.Jog key is to the left of the (src) button. Hold it in for more than 1 sec to get into menu mode.
Move Toggle Control Knob (TCK) up (don't turn) until you see "Clock Adjust" on the screen.
Press Toggle Control Knob (TCK) in for more than one second and the time will appear (flashing).
Move TCK up/down for hours, left/right for minutes (again, don't turn knob).
Press (src) button when the desired time is selected.

Enter Standby Mode by pressing SRC button
Press and hold the Menu button down until MENU flashes. The word Menu will be replaced with a menu option immediately afterward.
Then, use the control knob to move through the menu options by moving it up (toward FM) or down (toward AM). Move through the options until you find the Demo ON option.
Press down on the control knob until it changes from DEMO ON to DEMO OFF.
Then press the SRC button again to get out of Standby mode.
