Hi folks For a Kenwood KDC-MP235 I've followed the instructions carefully - entered standby mode using the SRC key, then held the control button at least two seconds. Still spams out the demo messages a few seconds later. Any hints appreciated ! Thanks Jeff
Once in standby you have to press and hold the button to get into the menu. Once in the menu, you use the joystick control on the right to navigate to "Demo" and toggle it to "off" (can't remember off the top of my head... you either have to press the joystick in and hold it to toggle or just move it up/down...). Once done, just press Source to exit.

Thanks ! I'd actually posted again yesterday but it appears that post didn't stick. Also found that one has to use the MENU function also which the instructions didn't mention... My method was to enter the menu first, then standby (with SRC) then toggle to DEMO MODE and finally, hold the control button down (in) for two seconds or so - then the Demo mode turns off (thank the gods).
Ya'd think that Demo mode would be something a retailer would want to activate, rather than making all the consumers de-activate it...
Can't get out of demo mode despite following instructions very carefully. I am VERY frustrated with this product! What is Kenwood thinking!?!?!
wont get out of demo mode
I agree, WTF were they thinking!? Don't make every single customer turn it OFF, just make the few retailers who have "Display models" turn it ON. Idiots... They ******** all their customers.
