Looking for the cable code, i have dish network
Hello, here are some simple steps to follow to get this working!!!
1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code
680
500
830
If these codes don't work, try these steps:
1. Hold down the Clear TV button until all lights at the top of the remote light up
2. Press the red TV POWER button
3. Press and release the up arrow on the remote about once a second until the tv turns off.
4. When it turns off, press the # (Pound) button
5. Try powering the tv on/off, and try the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over at step 1 again.
If neither of these steps work, post back the model of the remote, (which you can find on the back at the top, it is a 2-3 digit number, like a 3.0 or 21.0) and there may be codes that work better for your particular remote. Hope this helps!

I get channel until #13
TV's of this era have two modes that the tuner can work in. One is the AIR mode and the other is CABLE. In the air mode the tuner picks up only "off air" frequencies,... and up to channel 13 they happen to be the same as cable channels 2 thru 13. If you are using cable you will need to go into your on screen menu and find where to change the tuner from "air" to "cable" to get channels above 13. Older sets had a switch on the front and sometimes the back to select the tuner mode.

Curtis TV, Mod#LCD2443A: Picture died, Sound is OK. Which part needs replacement - Mother-board or sub-components? Is it a big job, or simple plug-in swap? Any cautionary info?
Thanks.
Dave
What way you think, working with an LCD TV is skilled work indeed. Here, as sound is OK, there should be something wrong with its picture circuit of the main board. You should have skill in working with main board of an LCD TV. If you haven't it will be best to contact any service technician.

Always respect voltages. While some may not be dangerous in themselves, they can cause unexpected reactions that are best avoided. Before reaching into a powered TV set, it is best to test the high voltage insulation. It is easy to do, and is a good service precaution.}
Curtis mathes tv model# v37ncgi blinking red light do to have a diaogram of where capulators are located?
Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.
