To upgrade the firmware on a Curtis Blu-ray player, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Check the manufacturer's website to see if a firmware update is available for your specific model of Curtis Blu-ray player.
  2. Download the firmware update file from the manufacturer's website onto your computer.
  3. Connect a USB flash drive to your computer and create a folder on it named "CURTIS."
  4. Copy the downloaded firmware update file into the "CURTIS" folder on the USB flash drive.
  5. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer and plug it into the USB port on your Curtis Blu-ray player.
  6. Turn on the Blu-ray player and navigate to the "Settings" menu.
  7. Find the "Software Update" or "Firmware Update" option and select it.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update process.

Play my dvd's

The Region setting maybe incorrect.
To change the Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVD drive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have been made.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the 4th change.
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region and Passkey for Blueray that allows you to play Bluerays from any region.
There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free

I have a acer 6920 and have problem playing blueray dvd

Newer BR disks are in an different format. If you can't view them then either you need a new BR unit or you need to upgrade the firmware of the one you have - if this is possible.

It freezes when playing a blueray movie. it seems

The most likely cause of your frustration with the BDP-S350 is that your player's firmware is not the most current. Most often, the firmware problem is JAVA related and will not let the menus load at all, but freezing during playback has also been reportedly fixed with the firmware upgrade.

The solution is to go to sony's website, download the firmware upgrade, burn it to a disc and then load the disc into the player to fix it.

I hope that helps.
