I have qsee dvr from someone but I don't know the password how to reset

What it shows on screen after system initializing? It goes black or? do you have a manual for it? I think it has a "like computer" options that allows you to click on the start prompting you to an internal menu. Can you try to find this? let me know, by Cris,The best on FixYa

try to remove the cmos back up battery inside the DVR and install back the battery in invert position to short the polarity. Leave it overnight and install back the battery in the proper position and turn on. tyr to log in USERNAME: admin PASSWORD: 123456

Hello,

you need to format the HD. The sudden power outage is the reason the unit is freezing. As a matter of fact, the HD is the cause of the freeze. The HD has not been able to recover from the sudden power outage.

Format the HD and hopefully the unit should be back to normal.

But if unit is not in order after formatting the HD, please let me know for further direction.
