1st option is also right go for solution.
2nd is Patch sensor, laser dirt, hvt, or ITB unit..

try to check first in front or side if their is a button that will open on the front cover, most cartridge are being installed in the front especially laser jet

First tell us about the actual problem not the SH***T, and we can probably help... I've been using DELL computers and Canon printers for years and when used COOL HEADED! there not so bad...

The canon lbp5050 is the biggest steaming pile of **** we have bought. The only dilemma when trying to fix it is wether to use a 10 pound or 16 pound sledgehammer when smashing the **** out of the usless thing. My advice is DO NO BUY THIS PRINTER

If that happens look in the system tray for a yellow tiangle,click on it and it will tell you the problem!It might just be a empty toner!

there is a small lever that lifts up when paper is inserted; this closes a switch; look for it in the paper try compartment.

what is the error message displayed on the PC ?

try reseting the device just hold the power button down for 10 seconds. this should resolve the problem pretty quickly.

You can,t unless you have the source code of the printer software,that is not an open source code,like for say,Open Office Word editor or XAMMP.

Open the back cover and pull out the jammed paper

maybe there are problems on the sensors of the printer. i suggest that you have to call a technician to fix that problem.

Getting them from third party vendors seldom works. replacing the ink cartridge isn't going to help. The printheads for most, if not all, Canon printers are built into the printer itself. You can bet your last dollar/pound that the printhead is blocked up. There's actually guidance on how to clean the printhead(s) on the following page. I'm afraid I don't know how difficult they are to get at in Canon printers, but I do hope you're able to get it functioning OK again.
