Maxtor 1.5TB 7200RPM 16MB USB 2.0/FW400/FW800 Barracuda 7200.2 FireWire 400 (1394a) Hard Drive "computer hd 1 beep followed" Questions

HD, it makes clicking and beeping sounds and wont connect or start up. Is there any way to retrieve that data from the drive if it doesnt start up? Any Un-usual noise from the Disk is not a good sign.
