The clicking you hear is made by the starter solenoid.
First check the connections to the battery for corrosion and make sure they are tight. Otherwise this is usually caused by a low battery or a battery that can no longer take a load. You may have enough power for your other systems to work but the amps required by the starter are far higher than any of the other systems.
The battery can be load tested by most auto parts stores for about $10. If the battery is fine the next step is checking the cables to the starter for breaks or corrosion. lastly the starter solenoid or starter could be faulty.

My 1992 honda accord wont turn over like the battery connects and everything turns on but it wont start

This procedure usually works:
  • Check the battery cable connections:
Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter. Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine.
  • Check the battery the simple way, like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
  • Check the starter and solenoid:
If the wiring looks ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter(10 volts minimum while cranking).
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's bendix gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck bendix gear.
  • Make a simple test of the alternator:
If you can, somehow get the engine running, measure the voltage at the battery. It should be at least 13.6 volts to properly charge the battery.

1998 Honda Accord won't start. Hear electrical clicking sound coming from behind the glove box area. What could be causing this?

-There are couple thing that cause not to start:
*Before check the following, make sure battery is full of charge.
1. No thing at all. Possible Corrosion battery cable or bad connector or starter relay. (Visual Inspect it) Clean it or tight it
2.Click but never turn or start. Starter has dirty contact or worn out. (Replace W/new one)

Good luck

My 2000 honda accord ex wont start,

Is it a single loud click when you try to start it? Or multiple clicks or "buzz"? If it is a single click heard from the engine, your starter has likely failed. Test the battery first, and inspect the battery cables/connections for any looseness/corrosion.

Honda accord keep burning low beam headlights

Sounds to me like you need to reset the headlight housings... maybe they are vibrating very badly. ... OR, easy fix, get NEW headlight housings on EBay and install.

No head light high and low beam fuse is good

You have to check the headlight switch, and headlight relay, as these are the only two components that control both high and low beam headlights. You should hear a slight click from the control stalk switch as you turn it, and then you should hear a faint relay click from elsewhere a fraction of a second afterwards.

Also, if this is a car with daytime running lights, the Honda DRL modules are known to develop thermal cracks in the solder on their relays; this is an easy fix for anyone with simple electrical repair experience. This will often start as an intermittent problem and gradually worsen.

Followup with more detail if you check the above.

My 04 accord won't start and battery is fine. What should I check

It sounds like the battery has a bad cell. Take the battery and have it load tested. I have also had starters go bad without making any noise.

1991 Honda Accord Starting/Ignition trouble

sounds like a bad battery or the battery cables are corroded where they hook up to the battery or loose. if it cranks for a couple seconds slow than clicks quickly there isnt enough voltage getting to the starter. not all new parts are good.
