You can use the following transformer as a replacement-

  • LET 60 class 2 12 V/60W lighting transformer from express lighting.com $18- slightly smaller
Had the same problem- customer service at home despit was underwhelming as usual, they said that each manufacturer blamed the other, and to return it, they would not just replace the transformer. Typical of HD-you are pretty much on your own-lucky im an electrical engineer!-hope this helps

I have the same issue and will order the transformer you recommed. Any idea if it makes a difference which output wires hook to white and silver wires on the light fixture? The old Novitronix has two red output wires. Nothing to distinguish the two. The unit you recommend is similar (the wires are blue). When hooking this up does it make no difrfrerence wich of these hooks to the wires in the fixture?

This unit is more than a transformer. Inside is a circuit board with a toroid transformer and bunch of electronic components. Part of it seems to be overtemp protection. If I did not know any better I would say that there is a rectifier and a DC voltage regulator. But the the text on the cover seems to indicate the output being 12 AC. Anyone has any idea how to get the schematic of this thing?

I have replaced 18 so far, absolute **** from Homedepot. Called Europhase and they said they are having some problems with the Novitronix 9801ar transformers . Europhase sent me new replacement transformers, Europhase Model 0082. These new transformers are heavier yet smaller than the Novitronix. Have yet to see how long these last.

The problem is the .5amp internal fuse is blown. You can replace the fuse and it work for a while. You can, although not advised bump the fuse up to 1 amp and try that. I do not recomend or endorse this procedure.

One of the problems may be with your light switch. For this type of light which uses a 12V transformer, you need a magnetic low voltage switch. Hope this helps.

  • ArtUnlimited Dec 04, 2011

This may be bad advice as this transformer is NOT the magnetic type and requires an ELECTRONIC transformer's switch. Check this out before proceeding - this MAY only apply to dinner style switches.

How do you write 11.2987 in words

I'm not going to do your homework for you, but I'll explain how it's done in general. When you speak a number, you generally say the integer part in the normal manner, say, "point," and then speak the digits of the decimal portion (or, if the decimal portion is that of an irrational number or endless repeat, speak it to the desired number of decimal places). You write the number in words in the same way. For example, 99.995 is "Ninety-nine point nine nine five."

Light flashes two times then nine times

Take set to a shop===this model rarely gets fixed by a do it yourself person. Common issues include bad high voltage transformer and bad solder connections at that part and around it, also bad HV splitter---etc.

On/off works but dimmers do not. leviton toggle

If each pendant has an individual transformer that is about the size of a hotwheel then you need a dimmer specifically for ELECTRONIC LOW VOLTAGE. A lot of electricians don't know that the different types of lights require different dimmers. Most store bought dimmers are for incandescent lights only, and some nicer dimmers like the Lutron Maestro's are rated for incandescent or MAGNETIC Low Voltage which require a different Sin wave interuption. I don't know that leviton makes a dimmer in that style for Electronic Low Voltage. You could install a Lutron DVELV300P-Wh, but that is a Decora opening. http://www.lutron.com/CMS400/WorkArea/downloadasset.aspx?id=25437
Here is a link to explain the difference in how the dimmer needs to work. Good luck!
