I need to replace my starter what tools do i need ?and what is the easiest way to remove it?

should be 2 bolts 15mm and then 2 nuts on the starter 13mm and 8mm. this is a very easy starter to do. make sure you remover ground battery cable before doing this starter.

1) Disconnect Negative Cable on Battery
2) Starters on right-side Close to Trans. Bell Housing
3) Remove the 2-Starter Bolts and Shim if it's
if it has shims.
4) Remove the wires off Solenoid: Mark Them:
5) Remove the Heat Gaurd Over top of Starter:
6) Take Starter on Out.

To Re-Install Reverse the Procedure that you Removed the Starter. NOTE: the Shims if there was any are only nessary if the Casting of the Starter is not Exactly or Close to The Original.

Be sure that All the Wires you Took off the Starter Solenoid are put Back on the Exact Same Terminal. And Snug them up .Be careful not to Over Tighten,:
Specs on Bolts Are :
Torque Starter Battery Cable Nut to 90 inch lbs
Torque Smaller ingnition wier nuts to 18 Inch Lbs
Torque the 2- Starter Mounting Bolts to 35 FOOT lbs.
Remember if your Old Starter Had Shims the New one MIGHT need Shims.All Starters Casting are just a Little Different. like by thousands of an inch. I'm pretty sure the last time I did this, I went through the right front wheel well after removing the tire. You may have to remove a clamp or two that hold some some steel hydraulic lines, just bend them a little out of the way and you will have access.

you have to look with a flash light depending on the vehicle, go under the vehicle and look left to the right of the bottom of the engine and you should see a elongated part no bigger than 12 inches(smaller) and it will have no more than three wires with a smaller cylinder attacked to it. most of the time there will be 3 bolts or nuts holding it on. tools= socket set; standard for domestic vehicles and metric for import vehicles, open end wrenches and wire cutters(just in case). most of the time on domestic cars you will use a size of 1/2 to 9/16 for you tools. start with disconnecting the battery then remove the starter. when putting the new one on just turn the teeth on the starter to line up with the wheel in the engine, you will see that when you remove the old starter. splice the new power wire if needed for the power, a new wire should come with the new starter if it is needed. hook the battery back up and enjoy!
