yes, you are correct, those are the two pieces that could solve your problem, but i would go first for your cdi, you may choose to have it tested first also, before you jump out to buy a new one.

SOURCE: my keeway wont start

Check the fuses. Is the kill switch on or shorting out? Disconnect it and then check for spark. Sidestand/centerstand should be up, Got a good battery?

I am unfamiliar with your Keeway and just trying to help. Don't give me a bad rating if I miss the mark on this one. Thanks.

SOURCE: NO SPARK,110CC, 4 STROKE,NEW STATOR,CDI,AND RECTIFIER

Hey whats up? Try back probing your wires going to the CDI unit with a volt meter or continuity tester to make sure you do have any broken wires. Then check the stater make it is good. If sure how to check the starter take it a bike repair shop they should check it for free.. If that does work let me know and I will look further into it for you. Good Luck.

SOURCE: My 1999 Polaris 335 sportsman

you have down all the electrics ( so have spark at plug ) has to be something with the carby does the spark plug have fuel on it when you remove after trying to start if not fuel problems, does bike have T.P.S (throttle positioning sensor) some on carby, some on thumb throttle etc might be causing problems.

Will cdi box stop stator from firing on a 125cc pit dirt bike

Stator will stop the cdi from firing the spark plug and either cdi or stator if bad will stop a spark from being created. The coil, wiring, kill switch and other things can also stop ignition spark.

No Spark, No Power coming from CDI to coil

Check the wiring on the connector plugs make sure all the wires are the same color on both sides, red to red blue to blue and so on. I had the same problem After replacing a stator and just plugging it in,after two weeks a new cdi and coil i noticed there were two wires transposed.

125 pit bike skyteam NOT SPARKING tryed evary thing

If your 125 pit bike skyteam is not sparking, even though you've tried everything, there could be a few different issues causing the problem. Some possible causes include:
  1. Faulty ignition coil: The ignition coil is responsible for creating the spark that ignites the fuel in the engine. If the ignition coil is faulty, it will not produce a spark.
  2. Stator issues: The stator is responsible for generating power to the ignition coil. If the stator is not working properly, it will not produce the power needed to create a spark.
  3. CDI issues: The CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) is responsible for sending power to the ignition coil. If the CDI is not working properly, it will not send power to the ignition coil, resulting in no spark.
  4. Spark plug: A fouled or worn spark plug can prevent the engine from starting. Check the spark plug and replace it if necessary.
  5. Wiring issues: A problem with the wiring can prevent the spark from reaching the spark plug. Check all the wiring connections and make sure they are clean and secure.
  6. Battery: A weak or dead battery can prevent the engine from starting. Check the battery and charge or replace it if necessary.
It is possible that one or more of these issues may be causing the problem. It is recommend to check the owner's manual for troubleshooting and further guidance. If the problem persist, it is best to take it to a qualified mechanic for diagnosis and repair.

How to test CDI unit for KTM65 2009 to diagnose if faulty or not.

If you are able to use a digital volt meter and work your backwards from spark plug wire to coil to cdi to stator you can figure out where voltage stops.thats a fairly newer bike unless you really submerged that bike under water i dont think its the cdi box.it could be coil wire it could be coil.you want to check or change the cheaper parts before you go right to cdi because there not cheap.I have a yamaha banshee 350 and she was breaking up real bad.I thought because it was only happining on top end that the cdi was breaking down or stator was going bad.Found out with meter it was the coil wires and spark plug boots. These items have to have a certain amount of resistance or the do not conduct correctly. And spark plug wires and boots are not that exspensive. So thats why I say start from sparkplug boot and work your way back.Try that and Good Luck.

NO SPARK ON A 98 RM 125

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, test for the presence / absence of below described voltages using an analog / needle type voltmeter when starting the bike:
  • pulsating low AC voltage coming from the pickup coil;
  • pulsating voltage feeding the ignition coil.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Fresh rebuild now no spark

If it ran before, I would double check your electrical connections. Its more likely you didn't get a connector pushed all the way together or left off a ground wire. The ignition coil specs are generally 1 ohm or less on the primary (small Wire) side, and 5K-10K ohms on the secondary (spark plug) side. Each side should be tested to ground. Pick-up coils are typically open or really large ohm reading in Megaohms normally and around 100 ohms when the magnet on the flywheel passes by. there is no way to test the CDI box other than putting it on a know running bike or getting a known good CDI and putting it on your bike. Double check that the spark plug cap is secured to the high tension lead as well. Testing the stator is a little more complicated, but a quick way is to close the gap on an old spark plug to about 0.010" and see if there is a week spark. If so, the stator will need to be replaced.

No spark

There are a # of things that can take your spark out, first I would see if you have power to your ignition coil (100V+). If none there you need to isolate your ignition switch (unplug it or take it out of the equation) and jump your starter solenoid manually or try pushstarting the bike. If still nothing check for voltage going into your CDI box, if none check for voltage out of your stator (over 100V) and your trigger or pulse coil (over 3V). If you find voltage at the stator and not the trigger replace the trigger and vice versa. If there is voltage for both replace CDI box (but be cautious to verify good ground for CDI box and ignition coil). If you find voltage out of your CDI box (over 100V) replace your ignition coil. Good luck!
