NO SPARK ON A 98 RM 125

I MADE A TRADE FOR THIS BIKE. THE OWNER TOLD ME IT HAD NO SPARK COLD BUT IT WOULD PULL START. I BOUGHT THE SERVICE MANUEL SO THAT I COULD TEST IT PROPER. THE STATOR FAILED THE RESISTANCE TEST, SO I FOUND A USED ONE FOR THAT TESTED GOOD.THAT DIDN'T WORK SO I REPLACED THE CDI WITH A KNOWN GOOD ONE. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, I HAVE REPLACED THE STATOR AGAIN, THE CDI AGAIN, THE PICK UP COIL TWICE, THE IGNITION COIL AND PLUG WIRE. THE SECOND STATOR EVEN CAME COMPLETE WITH THE WIRING HARNESS.I HAVE REPLACED THE ENTIRE SYSTEM WITH NEW OR KNOWN GOOD PARTS OFF RUNNING BIKES. AND NO THE KILL SWITCH IS NOT GROUNDED AND THE FLYWHEEL SPINS. WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?

Initially, test for the presence / absence of below described voltages using an analog / needle type voltmeter when starting the bike:

  • pulsating low AC voltage coming from the pickup coil;
  • pulsating voltage feeding the ignition coil.

If The Guy You Bought The Bike From Said It Would Crank Push Starting. But Wont Crank With Kick Starter. That's An Indication Of A Broken Reed. Hi-Revving 2- Strokes Eat Old Reeds Quickly. Replace Them With Carbon Fiber Reeds If Possible.

    I Have Several Solutions Posted Elsewhere That Explains How The Electrical Systems (CDI) Work. The Stator Via Rotating Magnet (FLYWHEEL) Generates A.C. Current To Capacitor After Being Rectified To D.C. Current Internally By The CDI Module. This Current Is Stored In The Capacitor Until The Pick-Up Coil Triggers This Current To Discharge To The Primary Terminal At The Coil. Secondary Side (PLUG WIRE) Fires The Plug. Also Be Sure The Plug Boot Is Threaded Into Plug Wire(GOOD CONNECTION). See My Other Postings For Testing Procedures And Cautions

I have a rm 125 1994 i also got it not sparking and have replaced evrything with known working parts but not the flywheel how can that fail.

    Never Strike A Perminant Magnet Flywheel Or Drop While Handleing It. It Will De-Magnetize The Unit. If It Will Pick Up And Hold A Good Sized Wrench Its Probably Good. Be Careful Using Impact Wrenches On Flywheel Nuts Also.

Why wont bike start

Probably just a fouled plug. Pull the plug and ground it on the head. Kick it over and check for spark. If you have spark just change the plug and try it.

Have a 1992 suzuki 125 rm bike cant get it to

try changing gas . dont forget to empty out carb bowl also check for spark might have a fouled spark plug .

I recently bought a suzuki rm 125 and it wont run with out me giving it revs y is this . i cant leave it to tick over because wen i let off the throttle the bike dies????

the idle buddy is too low,on the carb is a screw the ide screw turn it in 1/4 of a turn with the bike running untill it idles the way you want it too and it will idle the pic below ill help ya buddy 34c510c.jpg
