It's most likely that your transmission fluid level is low . . and PROBABLY substantially LOW. IF you're high mileage on this vehicle, buy a 12 oz. container of Lucas transmission treatment from an auto parts store and get it in before you ruin your tranny. REMEMBER to make ample room in the transmission as you do this ! Overfilling can also damage it. Once you've established the fluid level in your tranny, you can drain it down by purchasing an 8 ft. length of clear plastic hose that'll fit inside your tranny fill tube and siphon it out. Just remember that fluids seek their own level, so you MAY have to suck just a tad on the hose (and have a friend observe so you don't get it in your mouth) to get it started draining out. It may not be necessary to say this, but when you're going to ADD 12 oz., you MUST have retrieved 12 oz. from your tranny in order to have room to add this.
