check for spark if spark squirt some starting fluid in carb dose it try to start or runs chang gas put fresh gas in it and seafoam carberator additve in it restart sameway let it run three tank fulls out then try to start it regular way if still dosnt wont to run rebuild carb this is how a shop would do it
Might be bad gas. Empty tank refill with fresh gas with Stabile. Might have to remove carb bowl clean and reinstall. Flush out tank with a little gas before refilling, disconnect fuel line to flush.
Check wiring for ground. Ensure battery is fully charged or replace. Replace spark plug. Clean or replace air filter. check oil level, all mowers have a low oil start cutoff. Bad gas? Flush out fuel tank by removing gas line, flush fresh gas thru. Reattach gas line, fill with fresh gas, always use Stabile in gas! Check fuel line for cracks and secure connection to carb. Battery should read 12.8 volts or higher. .
carb float/needle sticking opening the carb drain will provide evidence if fuel is reaching fuel bowl, if fuel is present then i would suspect the carb is gummed up and it will need to be cleaned ( all jets/passages ) another area could be that the gas cap vent/line is plugged not allowing fuel to flow by gravity feed.
I have a 2006 Sportstman 500HO ATV, EFI. Sometimes it will run 100% correct, other times it will start, idle fine but then when giving it throttle will will start to surge almost like it's hitting a rev limited. Sometimes it will backfire and stall. I already replaced fuel filter, flushed the fuel lines and gave it fresh gas and installed a new spark plug, but no good. I also checked the throttle switch and it's not making contact to stall it. I download the service manaul and tested each sensor and they tested fine which is probablt why I get no check engine light. This ATV is mainly used to plow snow in my driveway, no salt. It's used around my property but very lightly. It's still as clean as it was when I bought it and it doesn't have but about 40 hours on it. check gas tank with light is there dirt in tank? did you change fuel filter? is there spark at the spark plug? try a 2 second spurt of starting fluid in carburetor and crank does it fire?if it does then you most likely need to clean carburetor with carburetor cleaning spray, flush fuel lines with spray and swap fuel filter.
you'll still have a filter to stop particals out the air entering the engine but this is very easy to do yourself (filters cost between £10-£15) some redex in the fuel tank will clean your injectors ( cost around £5) you are right about 100,000 miles before tranny needs a flush but you could prob do with engine flush + oil and oil filter changed ( engine flush around £10 oil filter upto £20) all easy to DIY don't get ripped sorry i only know english prices but should be able to work out us with current exchange rate . Hope this helps
if old gas was left in the tank and not flushed it makes the carb stick and won't allow the proper gas flow to the motor...I would first test the plug by verifying it has spark..if it does what i do at times is quickly spray some quick start in the plug chamber and reinsert the plug and try to restart...this at times will get the spark going and allow the motor to start.....you can also try to spary some in the carb before starting...just a squirt or two....the best thing to do is actually clean out the carb as it is likely the issue.....hope this helps
I just replaced the plug with a recommended one and still... it will not start
