How to replace the light bulbs in the speedometer

It is most likely the bulb behind the instrument cluster specifically for the speedometer are. You must remove the cluster and replace the bulb. If there is no bulb then you will need to replace the cluster. I would call the dealer prior to determine if they sell a bulb for your cluster.

You need to remove the cluster and you will see all the light bulbs for the entire cluster. turn counter-clockwise about a1/4 turn and they come right out.

All instrument panel lights or just speedometer light? There are several bulbs behind instrument panel. More than likely, the bulb at speedometer is burned out, and can be replaced by removing instrument panel and replacing bulb(s). Hope this helps.

generally you need to replace the globe at the rear of the instrument panel. You need to remove the panel and replace the bulb / bulbs blown.

I've done this before. You have to remove the cover for the gauges and speedometer, which is on a sort of a circuit board. The whole thing comes out in one piece, or did on the car I was working on. Then you just locate the burned out bulb, go buy a replacement, replace it and you're good to go, It's easier than you might think.

Perusal of a parts manual shows the bulbs to be in sockets with wires hooked to them which press into the outer back of the speedometer head, remove the offending socket (the one on the top, the other 4 are the function lamps I previously mentioned) by gently pulling it outward, the bulb will slide out for replacement.

toyota have them they go in easy.

just have your star screu driver take off the speedometer cover take out the speedometer and replace bulb. and also take out the door mat and replace bulb.
