If the engine will not crank but the lights work, the problem can be something between the key switch and the starter, including the neutral safety switch (a/t) or the starter solenoid on the starter.

You more than likely have a problem with the TCU (transmission control unit). It may also be other things. You need to seek professional help before spending money on a TCU that may or may not be the problem. It takes an expert to diagnose this problem.

Check the fuses...One of my buddies car had the same problem tail and dash light wasnt working so i checked the fuses 1 of it was gone

if its a standard check the clutch pedal switch if its an auto check the neutral safety switch and check the fuse in the fusebox that says CRANK

Probably when the dealer is testing it is fine because the problem is intermittent. There may be a dead spot in the starter so when it hits that spot it acts up but other times its not on that spot its fine. Replace your starter and you will probably get rid of the problem.

if you do have, check to see if your headlight light is strong
if it is, than take a heavy screwdriver or any other heavy metal tool and ask someone to nock on the starter inside the engine quickly and rapidly untill it starts
