How do I change a tail light/brake bulb on a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado? How do I get the drivers side lens off? I have removed all the screws I can see but it still won't come off?

I did that but there were two plastic guides that were holding it in. I was finally able to pull the tail light assembly out and access the bulbs to replace one. I had to tap it slightly to the left at the bottom to work it loose and then it slid out to the rear of the truck wall. :)

On back of the truck in the bed wall are 2 or 3 bolts to take out and the whole lens will come out.
You can then access the light bulbs. Good luck.

I did that but there were two plastic guides holding it in ... I had to slightly tap the bottom of the assembly to the left to work the guides loose ... then I was able to pull the assembly to the rear and unscrew the bulb holder, replace the burned out bulb, and then replace the assembly .... wow a lot of work to simply replace a bulb ...at least this time .... will go easier next time ... Thanks! :)

How to change the inside overhead brake lights in an 86 corvette

Hi,
1.Remove the two Phillips head screws from the brake light lens cover.
2.
Pull the lens cover away from the tail light panel. Set it aside on a soft surface because the lens scratches easily.

3.Push in the bad brake light bulb. Twist it counterclockwise to disconnect it from the socket
4.
Insert the new brake light bulb while wearing gloves. Twist it clockwise to secure it to the socket.

5.
Re-position the lens cover. Push it in firmly to secure it, and then tighten the two screws.

Good luck!!!!!

How do you replace brake light bulb on a 2006

you need to remove the 2 torx screws (accessable when you open the tail gate). once they are out, you are able to pull the whole tail lamp assembly out of its position, and then turn the socket counter clockwise to remove it from the assembly. replace the bulb, and reassemble. good luck!

How to change rear tail light on 2006 honda odyssey

Lift the rear door, remove the rear tail light lense, replace the bulb and replace the tail light on the car.... once the screws have been removed, be sure all of them are removed,,, the lens/light cover may have to be pried off with a flat blade screw driver.... place a folded paper towel of something else to protect the paint.... before prying...... Check the owners manual for instructions.

How can i remove tail light assembly to change my bulb.in my Chevy Tahoe 2006.

2 screw, they are torx head, so you will need a torx driver, any parts store will have them to sell. remove the 2 screws and while pulling back, take your hand from the side and whack the light lens towards the middle of the truck, this will dislodge the clips.

2005 Chevy Colorado edit

If you put the tail gate down, there is 2 screw (phillips) that holds the tail light in place. Remove them & you can twist the bulb out. Thats it, put back together in reverse. Hope this helps.

Change brake light bulb

I have not done one of these in a while, but I believe you open the tail gate and you will see two screws holding the lens in place. Remove the screws then the lens to access the bulbs.
Let me know.

Brake light

Access to the brake light bulb is through the tail light lens. First, remove the tail light lens by removing the single star shaped screw that secures the lens. You do not need a special screwdriver or bit: a regular flathead screwdriver will work fine.

How do you changle the brake lights on a 04 colorado?

Remove the tail light assembly. Open the rear door, and look at the side of the light assembly. You will see two openings for the screws. These are torx/star screws, can't remember the size, but I have a torx/star screwdriver with multiple tips that store in the handle. I think it cost about $5 at Ace. It's got a tip that fits. Anyway, remove these two screws and the assembly can be pulled free. It has two guide posts that pop out of guides in the body. You have to line them up on re-installation. With the assembly in your hand, flip it over and remove the bulb assembly from the reflector body. There are four clips that hold the bulb assembly in place. Once free, remove and replace the bad bulb and put it all back together
