It rides rough and seems to nearly bounce to the other side of the road when I hit a bump

Likely you need new struts. No fun driving with bad ones unless you need some stunt driving experience!!!

Sounds like a bad strut. try this, push down on the hood and make the car bounce up and down. if you push the car down and it continues to bounce up and down by itself, the struts are bad. thats one simple test for a bad strut. if you're not able to do that, have a freind do it for you. your car may also be in need of alignment, if your tires seem to be worn on either the inside or outerside of the tires, then your front ends out of alignment. the front tires only. the only other simple test i can suggest is this,if you're driving the car and it continues to bounce up and down, then you have a strut problem. hope i did'nt confuse you. if you need further assistance, please repost your question to fixya.com and have a great day.

Sounds to me like your shocks/struts are shot. Do the "bounce test" - bounce each corner of the car and see how many times the car moves up and down before stopping. If it's more than 1-2 times, then you need to replace the shocks or struts, depending on what your car has. (I would imagine your vehicle has struts.)

My back wheel when it hit a pot hole or any other bump in the street it bounce or not enough bounce to it ...the struts are ok an suspension is ok I was told so whats goin on..can u help me

I not sure if I fully understand your question. Are you asking should your car be bouncing more when you hit a bump or pot hole?

Well this is how struts and shocks are suppose to work: Struts and shocks are suppose to assist in providing a smooth ride, when you hit a bump or pot hole the struts and shocks absorb the force so you won't feel the full impact when driving. A good set of struts and shocks will eliminate excessive bouncing when driving or when you come across bumps and other mishaps in the road. So inconclusion if your car is not doing a whole lot of bouncing when you are driving that is a good thing, because that means your struts and shocks are doing their job and that means there is nothing wrong with them.

I have been told I need to replace the struts on my car at 45,000 miles. What would be the signs to tell me this is true? I was shown where they had leaked on the cylinder however the place they showed...

Struts and shocks stablize the car when driving. usually when they are bad if you hit a bump it will continue to bounce 5,6,7 times. also to check you can go to the suspected strut and bounce the car by pushing down on it do this several times and if the car keeps bouncing it is bad. it should only bounce once. and if stuts or shocks leak it would be wet on the cylinder where it came out

Montero Sport clunks when I hit a bump

The front[or rear] sway bars have links in them that are rubber mounted,it sounds like one of the sway bar links is broken,or one of the sway bar bushings is missing.Find the sway bar and have a close look at the mounts to see if the problem lies here.

Clunking and knocking noise from rear when hitting bumps.

-it could be the sawy bar linkages
-but also check to see if the struts are leaking or that it looks damp
-but because you said it doesn't look like it bouncing when you hit a dip most likely it could be that the struts are dead
-check to see the cars ride hieght that would give you a clue
