Small Leak in EVAP System
Have it smoke tested and repaired
Testimonial: "thank you for the fast response i will be out there looking for the leak tomorrow"
and is this an expensive thing to have done? is there anything that I can try to do to fix it?
If you can find a cracked or loose hose or a
bad valve on the system
Really need an EVAP schematic and maybe
a scanner to find the leak
The smoke is the key to a 15 min job
Mostly labor. Figure you will be charged
an hour and a half even if they are done in 10 min
Thank you looks like I will be looking for a leak tomorrow I had just got gas last night someone told me it could be a gas cap issue. is that possible and if so will the light go away when the new one goes on? or should i diconect the battery and reset the code? if so is that how you reset it?
is it still driveable I have to go to work in the morning will this hurt it more? There is no noise and it seems to be running great so what do you advise i mean i would not drive it for a week but tommorow since nothing is open to fix it
Could be a gas cap loose or bad
I'am not in favor of throwing parts
at a problem. I would have the cap
tested if you want.
If it isn't the cap we have discussed other
components and there are many in the EVAP
System that can fail. Mostly check valves,
purge valves,vent valves
If you clear the code then the repair
shop has nothing to go by unless
you provide the code you had
If the cap is good, yes the light goes out
Thank you again for all your help, I really do appreciate it!! thanks again
