Half of the plugs will be on the left, and half on the right of the engine. You will find a cable going in between the exhaust heads, those cables go to the plugs.

Use a plug puller to reomve the caps with out damaging them,

then remove the spark plugs with a socket designed for spark plugs, then verify the proper gap on the new spark plugs

install the new plugs,

place the caps back in the same spot they came from

the caps should make a clicking noise if they seat right.

Spark plug pops off

replace them make sure you get ones that are the right length, replace the spark plugs too for good measure, and when you but the spark plugs on make sure that you only push the wire on when theyre properly seated (so the male plug dosent push out or fold over the female receiver in the plug)

2001 chevy silverado 1500 4.3 v6. new fuel pump, new cats, plugs wires roater and distributer cap. shuts off after driving for a little bit gives no sign or warning. cant figure it out help please!!!

Start off by taking a spark plug out when it shuts down. If it is dry and a light tannish color, then you have a gas problem. If it is wet and dark colored, then you have a spark problem. Let me know what you find out.

2005 chevy silverado won;t start.

i had the same problem, and it turned out the coil pack was moulding inside wich stopped the spark all together, i ended up changing my coil pack and putting on new wires because the ends connected to the coil were very corroded and that cures the not running part just fine
