The cam sensor is located on the right side of the engine near
the end of the cam shaft. Remove the retaining bolt and plug then remove and replace sensor. Hope this helps.

no engine told nor country.
the cam sensor CMP is big time error , means fix me. but is not bad it is cam slip making CMP lie.
the cam belt is bad and screams,.
if this is belted cam engine DO NOT DRIVE It , but do fix that.
if DOHC engine for sure do not run any DOHC engines with cam belt loose.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

on the 4 cam there are 2 CMP sensors on rear of heads
if scans say it's ok, then it's ok (if dead start?, crank for 5 full seconds,see DTC now? )

Well the code means there is a problem with the cam sensor position for bank 2. The sensor is telling the engine computer the cam is in a different position that it should be.
You would need to check the signal from the sensor, and the actual cam to find the problem.
The camshaft Position Sensor in a 2006 Kia Spectra is located in the cylinder head on the right side of the head near the front of the engine. (if you are standing at the passenger fender area, this will be on YOUR left on the side of the engine nearest the windshield.) (See Diagram)
NOTE: if you are trying to fix a cam sensor code, it should be noted that MANY cam sensor fault codes can be caused by things OTHER than a defective cam sensor. For example, loose timing belt components can cause erratic cam sensor readings and cause the computer to set a code for the cam sensor. Proper diagnosis should be performed.
Try a Auto Zone in your area,They will run the code for you and give you a printout that will tell you exacty what it is,,,,and its free, This way you can be sure,Dealerships like keeping you guessing so they make money off every wrong guess,Ouch! for your wallet.Your jetta is old enough for the cam sensor to be bad,not a hard fix,,,but if the sensor has scraches on it from the cam rubbing on it that means your cam it hiting it,,but than again You might have over head cams,and than its just a malfuctuing cam sensor and its again a easy fix ,,,,first find out what it is than locate it and than remove and replace.
the P0340 is a camshaft sensor code, the sensor is located in the front (passengers ) side of the engine, there should be two sensor's one for each camshaft, (front of each head) defective cam sensor's can cause the the problems of stalling and hard starting. I am a Nissan certified tech and replaced a good number of cam sensors in the past, they are quit easy to replace, they are attached by one ten millimeter headed bolt (per sensor) remove the bolt then work the sensor clockwise and counter clockwise while pulling out, there is a o ring seal on the sensor and when installing the new one lightly lube o ring before installing, then install sensor and be sure it fully seated against the mounting surface before installing the bolt or you will break the mounting ear of your new sensor. thanks for using fixya
p1391 is intermitant loss of signal from crank sensor and cam sensor--change sensors!! change cam sensor first. good luck!! then try it, if still same way. change crank sensor.
I'm not a Jag expert, but error code 17 is: P0017 Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor B)

Basically, it looks like you have timing issue. Could be the cam or crank sensor or the timing belt.
The P0017 code would imply that you have at least two cam sensors (V6 or V8). The computer thinks that the B sensor cam is out of time with the other cam and the crankshaft. Depending on the cost and location, you might try changing the cam sensor first. The cost to check or replace the timing belt is probably going to be painful.
The cam sensor is the "high voltage switch", more commonly refered to as the distributor.
You are probably trying to figure out why you have a cam-crankshaft
correlation error code.if the distributor has been disturbed for any
reason i.e. tune-up or intake gasket repair, it is not aligned exactly.
Tweak it slightly and restart the engine. if the code goes history, you
got it. P.S. it may even be unplugged.
