Wront wheel drive?
sounds like a axle to me
try this... at low speeds (under 10mph)
drive in a cricle left... and right
is it clicking? both directions or only one?
if only one it needs an axle on that side

    I took my Spectra to the dealership several times for this and each time they pulled the rocker panel off and got rocks out of it and it stopped. Rocks get in and can't get out until they break eventually they do come out and it stops. They told me the rocks would NOT hurt anything. That was 5 years ago and all is well, just have to put up with the popping from time to time.

Dec 27, 2018 - It's the rubber coupler in the steering column. It's not really dangerous or hazardous as the steering still works fine, it's just annoying.

Yes I have a Kia Soul 2013 and hear a clicking noise on the steering wheel can I still drive until next week when I get money to put it in the shop ?
Do your windshield wipers still work? There is not much mechanically in the column that would make a clicking sound. Try putting on your turn signals when going around a corner. Do they automatically click off? Is the clicking sound there all the time? I doubt it will become a major problem right now.

When i accelerate I hear a grind noise and when I stop there is a noise in or around the power steering pump
check whether you have no power steering fluid in the pump canister,if you do not,fill it up and start again to see whether the noise gone,If not check your power steering pump serviceability. Might need replacement.

you have bearings and a turn signal switch.. these go bad. you can replace you whole steering column wih a used on vs replacing the partst to save money. this will save you $300-450

Steering wheel clicks on 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon
steering column bearing sounds like a worn out steering column... jack the front wheels off the ground both sides relieve load on steering wheel to see if it lessens the amount of feel and noise, if it does it shoud be the column bearing, replace bearings or complete column,,, also try with the wheels off the ground and safely supported to manualy steer the wheels by hand and see if you feel in roughness or hear any noises,should some minor resistance but be smooth in it movement if everything suspension and steering component wise is in good working condition... please rate my help.. thanks...

its in the stearing shaft that comes off the gearbox and connects it to the column there is a aftermarket shaft that has a grease fitting to stop making the noise

Popping sound from Chrysler Pacifica
it is called a clockspring.
the other thing to check is that the rear part of the steering wheel is clearing the column shroud properly.
call a few places in your area and how much it is to change the clockspring.
