fuel line diagram i need to know how to hook up fuel lines to fuel pump on a 1988toyota pickup try an autozone or a dealership they can print out the diagrams .

There are many online wiring diagram solutions, but the cheapest way to find your diagram is to purchase a haynes or chilton manual from the local auto parts store. Both have excellent wiring, fuel lines, brakelines, etc diagrams. I prefer the Haynes manual myself.

No simple diagram for changing the fuel pump. It is located inside the gas tank. The gas tank needs to be removed to change the pump. The pump is part of an assembly which consists of the pump, fuel gauge sender and pick up. You also need to change the fuel filter when you change the pump. It should take a professional mechanic about 3 hours to drain the fuel out of the tank, remove the tank, change the pump and fuel filter. Multiple the mechanic's time by whatever the repair shop charges per hour for labor. There are several different pump assemblies for the vehicle. Price depends on whether it's 2 or 4 doors and 2 or 4 wheel drive. Best guess is about $600 total.

haynes repair manual is always a must have, maybe try online. google it for fuse box diagram for a 1992 dodge D150.

sounds like one of two or both possible fuel filter clogged need to fuel pressure test or catalytic converter clogged will need back pressure test no more then 2 psi

For the 6 cylinder 4.0 Liter EFI (electronic fuel injection) SOHC (single overhead cam) engine
(8th digit of VIN = "E"), and
the 8 cylinder 5.0Liter EFI engine (8th digit og VIN="P"):

1. relieve fuel system pressure
2. remove/disconnect:
NEG. battery cable
bolts holding fuel filter shield
fuel lines (3 of them) - labeled (1) in above diagram
fuel filter (labeled (2) in above diagram - from its support

Installation is the reverse of removal, but torque the fuel filter shield bolts to 15 ft-lb. (20 Nm).
And, if you're as careful as I am, apply anti-sieze to the bolt threads before they go in.

the dealer will have the part, real common, there also may be a service bulletin to add a filter onto the vent valve. as for a diagram, when you have the part in your hand, and you look at the back of the fuel tank, you'll figure it out.

there is a special tool to remove the fuel filter---if it close to the gas tank--remove the 2 nuts that hold the fuel filter bracket to get more room--any auto parts store should have the tool--install around fuel line & push towards filter & that unlocks the spring clip on the filter so you could remove the filter
