1997 dodge ram idling problems

I have a 1997 dodge ram 1500 4by4 5.9 V8 158000 on it recently i have been experincing an idle problem when im coming to a stop or stopped the motor will drop two or three rpms and act like it wants to stall but it will pick the idle back up almost instantly i have had it into the shop and they cant find a thing wrong with it but i have been told by a few mechanic that it might be the tps throttle position sensor or am i crazy its a good running truck

Check the iac (idle/air valve) it controls the idle speed during the time the engine is started or coming to a stop. iac valve is located behind the throttle body . hope this will help you with your problem!!!!

Dodge vehicles in that Era are very electronic sensitive. I had same problem. I replaced a lot of stuff. Then my Battery went dead. I replaced the battery and it ran fine from then on.

clean or replace idle air control valve located on the throttle body, this is the valve that adjusts the ammount of air allowed into the engine to adjust fuel mixture. If you change it clean the throttle plate of all the carbon build up
